Chapter 38 I Want You

Elaine's smile widened and her heart swelled with relief at Sherman's words.

Whatever his decision might be in the future, in that moment, his heart was tightly bound to hers.

Sherman looked at Elaine, and though he seemed a bit dumbfounded, he knew the pain she silently endured behind her back. He had hurt her before, whether intentionally or not.

"Will you come back to see me again?" Elaine asked, approaching Sherman and wrapping her arms around his waist.

She didn't know why she had suddenly become so bold, but the thought of him leaving her room caused an unexplainable sense of loss to rise in her heart.

Elaine realized that she had only spoken what was truly on her mind.

She didn't want Sherman to leave, even though she knew what was likely to happen next.

Sherman was moved by her confession, but he didn't know what to do next. He followed his heart and watched over her in silence.
