Chapter 86

  Cora's POV

I had a feeling recently that someone was watching me secretly. But every time I looked around, I couldn't see anyone suspected.

"Are you alright? You look distracted," Javon asked me with concern.

  "Nothing. Let's go," I forced a smile.

Javon and I were going to the supermarket. He went with me wherever I went these days. I told him I was not fragile, and I could handle things myself, but Javon insisted. I thought he was just too considerate.

We were discussing what to prepare for dinner. Suddenly, an old woman a few steps away from us fell to the ground. I was frightened and screamed.

But Javon immediately ran toward the woman. "She passed out," he shouted.

He looked around. No others were nearby. The woman seemed to be alone.

I shouted for help, but no one came.

The woman gradually came back to her senses, but her face paled. Her hands grabbed the clothes on her chest tight, and she said her heart ached. She asked Javon for help.
