Both girls moved in the direction of the man, when they got to him Elizabeth asked him what he was doing by the river bank but the man didn't respond and continued staring at the river, Elizabeth looked at the river she thought maybe he was looking at something but there was nothing to be seen, the bell rang and both girls left to their class the man stood up with a walking stick and limped all the way to his wheelchair behind the tree.

School was finally over for the day both girls sat outside the school building waiting for their parents, the girls waited long but no one came for them, after an hour of waiting Julie's father stepped out of his office and the girls immediately rushed to him, Julied asked her father why Elizabeth mother hadn't come to pick her yet, Julie's father responded that Elizabeth mother was at the hospital and so was her father, Elizabeth father was restaurant owner so both girls wondered why he was at the hospital, Elizabeth asked Julie's dad if her mother was admitted into the hospital and Julie's father responded positively, all three of them walked towards the school gate both girls watched Julie's father hail a cab, finally they got to the hospital Julie's father asked the receptionist where he could find Mrs Winston ward the receptionist asked a nurse to take them to the ward.

When they got to Elizabeth's mother ward Elizabeth mother was sitting upright on the hospital bed and her father was by her, Julie's mother sat on the couch in the ward Elizabeth immediately ran to her parents and gave them a hug she asked her mother why she was at the hospital and her mother chuckled lightly and told her she was going to be big sister very soon Elizabeth was confused she asked her mother if she was pregnant and her mother replied with a smile Elizabeth jumped for joy God knows how long she wanted a sibling, Julie and her parents watched with a smile on their faces how the family of three celebrated, Julie's mother suddenly wished her little boy was still alive she held back her tears, Julie on the other hand felt a little pang in her heart she used to have a little brother but he was gone hopefully he's in better place now, she was happy for her friend.
