The Oruba Clan.

Amari wakes up in a room he doesn't recognize. The room is filled with medical herbs and different kinds of voodoo dolls. He attempts to get up but fails to because of his damaged body.

''You should rest for now; you won't be able to move for some time. I gave you something that will cause your muscles to rest and recover properly.''

An old lady is busy mixing some herbs together and working. She looks very old and has some grey hair and wears a lot of jewelry made of bones and animal skin. She walks around Amari with a bole that has smoke, and she seems to be praying or chanting.

''Princess Safiya told me that you are able to heal at an exceptional rate and it seems to be true.''

After the chanting she fetched some drinking medicine and offered it to Amari. He lifts his head and drinks it, and the drink tastes bitter but starts to heal him immediately. The scar on his arm doesn't feel painful anymore, but he was still restricted from moving.

''I suggest you to not move as much in the next two days or the medicine won't work as sufficient as it should be.''

''...Thank...Thank you"

''It's my pleasure.''

The lady leaves the room and Safiya enters looking excited, she looked nicer and neater than before, Amari almost didn't recognize her until she started speaking.

''You're lucky that she gets to treat you. She is the best doctor in our clan. The clan calls her Mama Medi.''

''Mama Medi?''

''Yeah, I think it's short for medicine, that's what every kid around her assumes.''

They both start laughing, and Safiya is starting to enjoy seeing Amari laugh, it makes her forget about the torture she has experienced in the past months.

''Although she's old, she is one of the coolest people I know. Did you know she met the Monkey King?''

''The Monkey King?''

''Yes, the-''

''Safiya!!'' a woman's voice shouts from outside the room.

''Yes mother!! I'm in here.''

She enters the room.

''Now Safiya, you know the boy has been injured and he should rest. Come now you should go and prepare for later.''

''Okay mother. I'll see you later.'' she whispers to Amari while smiling.

''Amari, right?''

''Yes.''

''Well Amari, it's nice to meet you. I'm Isabel, the Queen of Oruba.''

She smiles at Amari and looks around the room.

''Well Amari, tonight we'll be celebrating the return of Safiya, and we would like you to join us.''

Amari nods. She bows and leaves the room and Amari is left alone. He starts to feel tired and finally shuts his eyes and falls.

...

Mama Medi is in a conference room with the King Ada and Queen Isabel (King and Queen of Oruba Clan). She orders one of the servants to exit and close the door.

''What is so important that the meeting has to be this exclusive?'' asks the Ada.

''That boy... I'm sure I wasn't the only one who's felt it, right?''

The Ada and Isabel silently look at each other, understanding exactly what Medi was talking about.

''We know but, he hasn't been a threat to us, his whole time here.'' cries Isabel

''That doesn't mean he won't be in the future.''

''I agree with Mama Medi, that boy shouldn't be here.'' argues Ada.

''He brought back our child...'' she looks at Ada with watery eyes.

He can't bring himself to look back at her, he instantly felt little shame. Medi looks at the both of them.

''We should be thankful that he brought back the princess, but we can't ignore the fact that he will bring darkness to our village. Our ancestors won't allow it.''

''How come Safiya says he is good; she is the one who was alone with him in the woods.''

''Safiya is a child, she wouldn't know the difference between something that is bad for her than what's is good that good for her.''

''We need to put our village first.''

''He's just a child.''

Isabel shakes her head in disappointment as rushes out the room in frustration. Ada attempts to follow after her, but Medi stops him.

''She'll understand in the near future.''

When evening approaches everyone in the village is busy with something preparing for the ceremony. Kids are running around, and the woman are catering while the men are butchering meat and preparing the seating arrangements for the royal family and the clan elders.

Amari wakes up and his body feels lighter than usual, with his injuries fully healed. He stands up and goes outside to see what's going on. Everyone in the village seems to be having fun while preparing for the ceremony.

''The village hasn't been this cheerful since the day we lost Safiya.''

A muscular man is standing next to the door holding a set of clothes.

''By the way, I'm her older brother Femi, Prince of the Oruba clan.''

Amari looks at the Femi and doesn't say anything.

''Okay? So, my mother sent me to deliver these set of clothes for you.''

''Thank you.''

Amari returns to his room and changes to the clothes of the Oruba clan.

After a while the ceremony finally started, and it started with the young women dancing around the fire including Safiya. After that the young men danced with Femi, and they sang clan songs.

Safiya comes to sit next to Amari, this results to the boys of the village to give him a nasty look.

''How is it?''

''What?''

''The party, idiot.''

''Oh, it's nice... I can say that I've never been surrounded by this many happy people before.''

Safiya giggles, but Amari didn't mean it as a joke. Someone blows a horn, and everyone remains quiet. Two other men come out of nowhere and the start chanting while doing a dance ritual. After that everyone sits on their knees, the king and queen enters the crowd, and everyone bows. Except for the elders.

''Praise the King and Queen.'' Everyone starts praising for three times.

The King raises his hand while standing in front.

''Your praises are welcomed, my people.''

Everyone starts dancing again. Safiya joins the people who created a train of people dancing with their feet, she encourages Amari to join but he refuses. Other girls come to encourage him to join and after refusing a lot, he finally decided to join the dance. For a moment he had fun with the people.

After that they decide to head for drinks. Safiya brings a drink made of the Marula peaches. They start to take a walk around the village while Safiya is talking about the place she grew up in. They walk past a room that has a big rock that has stick figure like paintings and they look like to be telling a story, this catches the attention of Amari, and he suddenly stops.

''What is that?'' Amari interrupts Safiya.

''Oh that? It's a vision painting.''

''A vision painting?''

''Yeah, they tell us about something that is going to happen in the future.''

''What does it say?''

''It talks about Ragnarök.''

''Ragnarök?''

''It's a war between humans and the gods.''

Amari touches the photo and examines it.

''Wow...what about it?''

''It's a vision Mama Medi had years ago-''

Before she could explain, Femi and Isabel call Safiya. She runs towards them in excitement. They talk to her about something that looks important, and Isabel looks concerned and sad. The longer they talk to her the more it starts to look like an argument, but Isabel is trying to stop the issue from escalating. The group of boys that were looking at him earlier, suddenly appear in front of Amari to confront and intimidate him, but Amari is the least intimidated.

''What are you doing here?''

''What?''

''I said the likes of you isn't welcome at our village. What is you want gold?''

The boy that confronts Amari looks older than him as he is taller and bigger than him. Amari looks like a little child compared to all of them.

''No, I don't want money.'' Amari responds calmly.

''Then leave our village.''

Amari doesn't respond to the boy but looks at him. Safiya returns to Amari, and she is sulking. As she approaches the boys notice her coming and they decide to leave.

''Amari-''

''I know... you'll wake up to me gone tomorrow morning."

Safiya cries.

''This is unfair, you saved my life now I'm supposed to chase you out?''

''Is that what you actual think?... To be honest I always thought you saved me.''

Amari awkwardly hugs her, in attempts to comfort her.

''I've learnt so much while being around you, without you I would've never learnt the value of happy emotions, and the value of having friends around me.''

'She cries harder.

''You are truly special.''

They hold their hug for little longer while Safiya is crying. Amari thinks of how much he has changed over two nights. The things that he thought were the human weaknesses are the things that made humans stronger.

Amari held Safiya dear to his heart.
