They were too exhausted to shower, immediately beelining for the bed. Lake rolled right into Davian's arms, stealing a kiss as he did. He had gotten everything, an Alpha that loved him, and a good dad for his child.

It felt like he could taste his emotions from how they filled him up, his eyes sparkling as he broke off the kiss. "I love you."

Davian had still been half asleep when they got to the bedroom but Lake's words flipped a switch in his head, now he was painfully lucid. He held Lake's face tenderly, his expression soft. "I love you too."

A gentle kiss consummated their words, the honey-hued room warmly lit, casting soft shadows on their faces.
