Chapter 30: An Impressive Man

Griffin pulled Angela close to him again, wrapping his legs around her. It was almost midnight and, except for sneaking into the kitchen draped in sheets for a snack, they'd spent most of the evening in bed. Angela stretched languidly to smother Griffin’s lips with her own. She felt satisfied and more relaxed than she had in years. She wished the moment could last forever, but looking at the clock, she realized it was time for Griffin to go.

“At least you won’t bump into Ted tonight,” she said. “He turns in early.”

“I wouldn’t be so sure,” Griffin quipped. “He seems to have radar where you’re concerned.”

Angela frowned. “You don’t think he’ll still be up, do you?” Now that she’d laid out the ground rules with Griffin, she intended to protect her privacy at all costs. While she was willing to enjoy Griffin's company while he was in Boston, it was on a strictly casual basis. At some point, he would return to New York, and she would move on with her life.
