Chapter 32: A Sexy Rendezvous

“Who is it?” Angela called in a sultry, sing-song voice through her apartment door. She tried peeking through the peephole, but found it blocked by a finger. Pink skin, its creases magnified by the glass, obscured the view. Her blood burned in her veins at the thought of Griffin on the other side of the door. She leaned her back against the door, listening for his breathing on the other side.

“Angel?” she heard him say softly through the wood. She closed her eyes and smiled. It wasn’t going to be a quiet night after all.

Angela put her lips close to the wood and whispered to him. “What’s the magic word?”

“Open sesame,” Griffin said, his tone urgent.

“Nope,” Angela said.

“Hocus Pocus,” Griffin tried again. “Let me in if you don’t want anyone to see me standing outside your door.”

“Oh right,” Angela said, turning the lock in the door. But when she opened it, no one was there. Confused, she searched the hallway. “Hello?” she called softly.
