Chapter 41: The Lap of Luxury

As Angela climbed the stairs to the sleek Learjet, Griffin gently guided her with a reassuring hand on her back. Two flight attendants helped her inside, showing her to her seat. As she passed by the cockpit, the captain and co-pilot flashed welcoming smiles. Griffin paused to talk to them for a moment as Angela settled into the elegant leather chair.

“Can I get you anything before we take off?” one of the flight attendants, a man slightly older than Angela with thick, slicked-back hair and an immaculately-pressed uniform, asked.

“How long is the flight?” Angela asked him.

“Not long,” he assured her. “Less than an hour. I’ll be serving drinks and appetizers as soon as we reach altitude. Is there anything in particular I can get you? Our kitchen is well stocked to meet most preferences.”
