Chapter 50: A New Beginning

Angela sighed as she stood looking at Ted’s closed apartment door. He was a nice person, and she hoped they could still be friends. She'd told him because she didn’t want him entertaining any further false hope about a relationship between them. From now on, Griffin would come and go to the apartment as he pleased. There was no need for him to hide ever again.

Now that she, Griffin and Rory were together, they would live openly, with joy, for the whole world to see. Even Cookie Graystone would have to accept it. For Angela, telling Ted felt like the first step in standing up for her family. She'd finally realized that love wasn’t about her being protected, but protecting the people and ideals that mattered to her. She would die before she allowed Cookie or anyone else to threaten anyone or anything she held dear ever again.
