Chapter 55: A Horrible Turn of Events

As promised, Angela wore a black teddy on her wedding night. It wasn’t the same one she’d worn the previous evening, but Griffin seemed to approve. It was a black silk thong with a see-through lace bustier that she’d purchased especially for the occasion. Slipping out alone during her lunch hour, she’d ducked into an expensive shop called, “The King’s Mistress,” a name that promised passion and seduction. Angela wanted both on her and Griffin’s first night married together.

Griffin gave a long, low whistle when she came out of the bathroom. “I’m definitely the luckiest man on this earth,” he said, his eyes scanning her with appreciation. Unbuttoning his shirt, he walked over to her and wrapped his arms around her. “You’re the most beautiful bride I’ve ever seen.”

“Did you enjoy the wedding?” Angela asked, snuggling into his bare chest. He felt so strong and sturdy, a husband she could trust to support and protect her. A surge of love for Griffin swept over her.
