Chapter 57: Gathering Evidence

“I told you I have no idea why my wife would take Rory away from the wedding without his parents’ permission,” Percival Graystone’s voice boomed down the hallway. Angela spun around to find her father-in-law, flanked by a detective, striding into the room. He looked uncharacteristically animated, his calm, confident fa?ade peeling around the edges. “Isn’t it your job to find out what’s happened to her and my grandson? Why are you wasting your time on me?”

“Dad, please,” Griffin said, shaking his head. “Let’s just try to get through this. I’ve promised Agent Jenkins we’ll cooperate in any way we can.”

Agent Jenkins stepped in. “Since the three of you shared a room, we hoped you might have seen something that perhaps at the time might not have seemed relevant, but in retrospect can offer a clue to your wife’s whereabouts.”
