Chapter 65: Putting It all Together

“Can’t you go any faster?” Angela asked from the back seat as Jenkins maneuvered his car through the busy streets. Luckily, they didn’t have far to go. Griffin gripped her hand.

“I think the bridge is closed,” Griffin said, scanning the street ahead. “Maybe we should take a detour.”

“I’ve got this,” Jenkins said, raising his eyebrows at Jack in the passenger seat beside him as he squealed around a sharp corner. Behind him, four more squad cars, lights flashing, careened around the same corner.

“I hope I’m right about this,” Jack mumbled to Jenkins, catching his gaze.

“It makes complete sense,” Griffin said, his voice full of hope. “This house is in the exact neighborhood where Savannah thought she saw my mother.”

“I can’t believe I didn’t think of it sooner,” Jack said. “But she just mentioned it in passing while we were having a drink. I didn’t think it was important.”
