Smack!”
An unexpected forceful slap landed on Alohi’s face, she lost her balance and fell down.
Her father, who was burning with endless anger, yelled furiously.
“How dare you to accuse your Royal Mother with this demeaning slang. I have pardoned your impudence in past but this! This is unbelievable! Get married today and leave the hell out of my Castle. You’ll not be crowned as Queen until you face harsh consequences of your actions.
Guards, escort the Princess back to her room. She is not allowed to step out of it until her Wedding Ceremony.”
King Albert, who was not satisfied with his slap, announced her punishment immediately.
“Don’t hide behind Royal authority, father lord! I am right and you know it.”
Alohi’s face had a red hand mark on left side, stinging like hell but she didn’t pay any heed to it. She got up by herself and informed them her decision before leaving.
“I will not marry this cheater Alvin. Marry your dear, well mannered daughter Mona with him. I am certainly not interested in second hand goods.”
“Alohi!”
Ignoring her father lord’s warning roar, she left gracefully.
…
Second meeting of Werewolf Council in less than twenty four hours was worrisome for Alpha Nathanial but still he came to attend it with a straight face.
The head of the Werewolf Council, Alpha Henry Jackson’s glare was shooting daggers on him but Nathanial couldn’t care less.
He engrossed himself with the agenda of sudden gathering, attending his duties as a general secretary. He was surprised to read the allegations of fellow Alphas on Alpha Francis Lawrence, his sixth sense alarmed him.
Basically, Council was divided into two groups.
• Old experienced Alphas
• Young Alphas
Alpha Nathanial was the rising star of young generation, second group was looking forward for his complete rule over the Council.
But Alpha Henry Jackson didn’t adore the idea of leaving this post which he was successfully securing for the last nine years.
Three consecutive victorious elections made him rude and willful, not considering any other’s opinion before his own.
He was also the one to come up with the stupid rule of being mated in order to fight for the Council Head’s elections.
Proceeding started with Alpha Dean Morris’s statement.
“My storm Pack is facing the same rogue problem like other Packs. Rogue Alpha Simon’s growing power is questionable, regardless of the Council’s tireless efforts.”
To assist him, Alpha Albus stood up.
“In the previous six months, my Zellburry Pack has lost a million dollars in attacks and burglary by rogues.
While assessing their pattern of ambushes, all of us came to a conclusion:
Alpha Lawrence is supporting those rogues.”
“You are slandering your elders like this, how atrocious!”
Alpha Henry roared in fury.
“Atrocious Indeed!”
Alpha Kaden rose to gaslight him.
“Alpha Lawrence has fought several battles to ensure the rule of law in society. His service for peace can not be neglected.
You should think before making such type of assumptions.”
Although, Alpha Kaden was an outcast in the Werewolf community but his foxy correction was admired by the group of expert Alphas.
Sensing that this matter will be brushed off easily, Alpha Dean’s pleading eyes met Alpha Nathanial’s icy ones.
“Accusation without any evidence is punishable by law. Present your findings before honorable Council.”
Whole conference room fell into silence at Alpha Nathanial’s frosty Alpha tone, energizing the youth with hope.
“Sure!”
Alpha Dean gestured his Beta, he stepped forward and handed a box of discarded weapons.
“These wolfs-bane bombs and silver daggers were confiscated by the rogues we arrested.
As you can see, it has a sign of a shooting star, which represents the Star Pack of Alpha Francis Lawrence.”
Alpha Henry’s face blanched for a second, he wasn’t expecting that his over cautious friend would leave trials of his misdeeds.
He checked the remains of the ruined articles half heatedly and came up with an excuse.
“This can be a tactic of Alpha Simon to create hatred in our brother bonds. Remember young man, we can only be stronger if we stay united.”
He paused and observed the unhappy expressions of several Alphas.
“As Alpha Lawrence is in Spain for his daughter’s Mating Ceremony, we will postpone the investigations till his return.
Council has great sympathy for the losses endured by ‘small’ Packs, so compensation money and warriors of peace force will be appointed at troubled borders.
Everyone will be notified for the next meeting.”
Alpha Henry Jackson concluded the discussion seriously and left the conference room in haste.
Atmosphere was tensed with young Alphas’ fury, their blazing rage was not unreasonable.
…
“To be a Council member, a Pack must have one lac members or above. It’s preposterous to insult us like this.”
At brunch, Alpha Albus expressed his buried aggression.
“Alpha Henry was clearly covering up for Alpha Lawrence. I have heard that they are childhood buddies.”
Alpha Dean added this information in the list.
“Next election is crucial for us, Alpha Nathanial. Please let us help you in finding your mate. We can’t lose this decisive battle against those arrogant fogies.”
Despite of all the tension, Alpha Nathanial’s lips stretched in meaning full smile.
“I have found her!”
His four worded reply ran a jolt of excitement in glooming youngsters.
“Congratulations, Alpha Nathanial! Moon Goddess always sides with the truth.
Now with her blessings, even whole alliance of cunning opponents cannot defeat us.”
Between the happy chatters and queries about Mating Ceremony, a middle aged Beta sneaked out in silence and called someone secretly about the developments of today’s session.
