Chapter 583: Immortality

Hearing Linda Linda's words, Hanks reached out and touched her chest, laughing as he said, "What you're saying, is there anyone at the company you haven't slept with yet?"

Linda Linda opened up her sex diary app and took a glance, "What you're saying, there are so many people in the company, how could I possibly have slept with all of them, probably about half."

After the small talk, she got down to business, "Speaking of which, what do you think about Sun Jack's idea of setting up the oversight team?"

And at that moment, a blushing Old Six ran over and plopped into Linda Linda's lap. "What's there to think about? He's the Boss, and if he says that's the plan, then naturally, whatever he says goes~"

Linda Linda glanced at Old Six and said, "Actually, it's not a big deal, Clone Sun Jack isn't Sun Jack, and you all know his personality. As long as we don't cross the line, the rest doesn't really matter."

"You guys might be surprised, but don't forget he's the Boss of the Rat Alliance Battle Line. I could have guessed with my butt that he would eventually do this," Xiao Ting said as she kicked Old Six away and pulled Linda Linda into her arms, giving her a gentle pat on the butt.

The next second, Linda Linda's appearance began to change rapidly, approaching the two-dimensional aesthetic. "You really do know him well."

"Of course, maybe it's because my way of interacting with him is different. While you guys are still clinging to illusions, I've already faced reality," she said as she picked up her drink and sauntered over to Linda Linda's mouth.

After swallowing the drink in her mouth, Linda Linda said, "Though Sun Jack's temper stinks, don't forget that without him, we wouldn't be living the good life like we are now."

"Yeah, that's right," AA said, vigorously nodding while wearing a swim ring. "I remember, if the Boss hadn't let me stay with him back then, I might have starved to death, and wouldn't be enjoying these good days now."

She actually didn't want to come to this sort of gathering, but Linda Linda insisted on dragging her along, saying it could help Sun Jack, so she came.

However, for her self-absorbed self, there was no desire to mingle with others at all, treating the place completely as a swimming pool.

"That's what I'm saying," Linda Linda pulled AA over. "I never dreamed that me, a hooker, could live such a good life."

Taking advantage of the opportunity, Linda Linda silently recorded everyone's emotions; in reality, their feelings toward Sun Jack weren't just of resistance but more of heartache or disappointment.

After all, Sun Jack had always been the one shielding them from the storm, and they never thought that one day he would turn around and confront them.

Even if they didn't say it out loud, they definitely had their own thoughts.

"I'll help you," a voice suddenly rang out in Linda Linda's ear.

Linda Linda's pupils shrank slightly, and she quickly held down the AA cooing in her arms. "Tapai?"

"Who else but me? Since Sun Jack is responsible for messing things up, we'll just have to be the ones to clean up. But tell me, why are you helping Sun Jack like this?"

"Because he pays my salary, duh. What's your plan? Stop the nonsense and let's get to work, I can pull AA in."

The next day, Sun Jack's inspection team went online, gaining the right to look into all data banks within the Utopia Federation.

At first, looking over the various reports coming from the inspection team, Sun Jack breathed a sigh of relief, not bad, things were better than he imagined. The rot within the capital wasn't too deep, and while there were some issues, none were major.

"These guys aren't too despicable," Sun Jack moved the data off his system screen. He slowly took a drag of his cigarette, giving his brain a chance to relax.

Tapai, who was behind him, seemed to want to say something but then thought better of it and changed the subject. "Looks like the fighting has started again over there, more capital is fleeing. If we're just counting capital, we've surpassed them."

"Well, that's good news. But don't underestimate them; if they could survive in this dump for so long, they must have their own trump cards." But now, Sun Jack was much more relaxed about the situation with TT and DF23.

Anyway, no matter how the future situation changed, he could stay calm and collected.

Day by day passed, and in every aspect, progress was being made; the Utopia Federation was entering a golden age of development.

Just when Sun Jack thought everything was approaching a steady state, that previous issues were just a minor interlude, however, a piece of news from the inspection team shattered that tranquility.

In the meeting room, Sun Jack gathered everyone once more. As he swiped his fingers through the air, pictures started appearing in front of everyone—it was experimental data and views of a laboratory.

"The inspection team has discovered that someone has been using DNA enhancement to replicate the Holy Grail's immortality technique."

"That's pretty impressive, not leaving any trace, and handled very cleanly. It seems they understand me very well. Haven't I mentioned before that the use of this technology is forbidden?" Sun Jack scanned over each face in the room.

No one said a word, and no one admitted anything, but Sun Jack knew that only they had the access to do this.

Sun Jack didn't know who had done this, but he would not allow it.

"People must die; that's our human destiny," Sun Jack said. "If people don't die, then they are as harmful as cancer cells that appear in the human body."

Sun Jack's words circulated in the meeting room with the white smoke.

"This has nothing to do with me, bro," Old Six spoke up to distance himself.

As he spoke up, others also began to defend themselves, providing evidence that they wouldn't do such a thing.

Sun Jack raised his hand, silencing the others. "I don't want explanations; I only want to tell you. This is not okay, absolutely forbidden."

The next second, the data and the laboratory in the images were all destroyed.

Seeing this, Abu finally couldn't hold back, "Jack, I'd let the other stuff go, but why's this off-limits too?"

Sun Jack explained to her calmly, "If the old scumbags don't die off, then the Metropolis will forever be in this sorry state, and our new generation will never be able to rise, nor will our society ever develop."

"Moreover, the capital's Matthew effect doesn't shift by individual will. Even if nobody wants it, in the end, these immortals will become the new Holy Grail People. Is that reason enough?"

"Not enough!" Steelheart stood up abruptly. "What have those matters got to do with me? I've finally clawed my way back to this position by risking my life! Why can't I even have this little perk!?"

Sun Jack turned his gaze towards him. "So… are these experiments your doing?"
