Chapter 610 Breakthrough

Sun Jack's chest rose and fell rapidly as he looked up at the enormous mechanical worm in front of him—although it was less about the worm and more about the Poet behind it.

However, the Poet was clearly unimpressed by what Sun Jack had just said. If he had been so easily persuaded, he wouldn't have waited for a thousand years.

A voice came from inside the worm, laced with incredulity, "My goodness, Sun Jack, you think you're Naruto just because someone calls you that? Do you really think you can talk your way into convincing the boss? This isn't some two-dimensional action cartoon, you know."

The next second, the worm spun rapidly like a massive circular saw, swooping down with a whistling noise, clearly aiming to kill Sun Jack.

"Watch out!" Guan Sanke suddenly revved the engine, and the hoverbike shot forward, narrowly dodging the worm as it smashed down.

Yet to the Poet, this struggle seemed completely pointless.

"Come on, Naruto, keep up your trash talk, see if your words can blast me away, see if it can destroy these Earth Boring V8s."

Accompanied by a trembling noise, another mechanical worm burst from the ground, blocking their path.

Hearing this, Sun Jack looked up fearlessly at the sky full of mechanical worms, slightly shaking his head towards the source of the voice.

"You've completely missed the point of what I just said. My words weren't just empty talk, but truth. The enemy you're facing now is not just one Sun Jack or the entire Metropolis! What's completely different from before is that I no longer need to fight alone! I have companions all over the world!"

Having said that, he opened all communication channels and broadcasted across every signal-receiving area on Earth.

"Everyone! I am Sun Jack, currently under beheading attack from Omega 31, the attack is coming from underground Metropolis! I really need help—lend me your strength!"

Guan Sanke, witnessing this, suddenly widened his eyes, "Wait, this part seems familiar."

But just as Sun Jack finished speaking, he felt a chill down his spine and a strong sense of danger surged within him. He rapidly leapt off the bike, kicking off Guan Sanke's back powerfully.

As they split apart, a giant worm's mouth, resembling a tunnel boring machine, burst from the ground right where they had been just moments before.

Fortunately, Sun Jack was quick; if he had been any slower, they might have been swallowed by their adversary.

At that moment, Sun Jack's muscles tensely coiled as he swiftly dodged among the ruins, evading the pursuit of the worms controlled by the Poet.

Just then, streams of lasers flew by as Utopia Security provided support with long-distance attacks, and a spacecraft carrier was also rushing their way.

Even so, Sun Jack's situation remained perilously dire. With the ground shaking violently, more and more worms emerged from the underground, surrounding them. If this continued, they might soon have no ground left to stand on.

Volcanoes erupted from all directions, turning the entire Metropolis into a veritable hell on Earth.

Just as Sun Jack's life hung by a thread, a certain change began to manifest in the battlefield, a subtle trembling of the ground that grew increasingly intense.

Just at the beginning, Sun Jack thought it was the movement of worms underground causing the trembling, but soon he realized the situation was different, the trembling sensation grew more intense. Buildings toppled all around in this shaking, continuously collapsing.

An earthquake had struck, the once smooth ground started to crack open, like huge gaping mouths, madly devouring everything on the surface.

In comparison to the damage on the surface, a greater hazard lay underground. In the violent shaking, every mechanical worm that emerged from the ground seemed to be violently shaken by a giant hand beneath, making it difficult to even stabilize their bodies, let alone attack.

Seeing this scene, Sun Jack, who stood on a collapsing rooftop, laughed. He knew that the only thing that could cause an earthquake, as far as he knew, was the TT Group's crustal weapon.

Even if they hadn't agreed with his choice before, even if they might still be enemies in the future, now, in the face of the same enemy, they still reached out to help him, even when he couldn't pay them a dime!

He was genuinely happy now, not just because of TT's help, but because in the face of the same enemy, humanity, despite various conflicts and hatreds, had finally come together again!

"Sun Jack!" A swaying worm in the earthquake swung its body and lunged towards Sun Jack. Unlike the fully mechanical worms before, its body's saw spines had clearly fallen off a lot, and much of the outer shell had come off.

After all, in the midst of the rock layers continuously separating and compressing heavy weights over thousands of tons, it was clearly impossible for it to attack.

Sun Jack watched the approaching worm with resolve, and as he gently raised his right hand and firmly pressed down through thin air.

The next second, a silver Sky-base Weapon descended from the sky, slamming down on the worm like a giant hammer, smashing it back into the dirt.

With the vibration gradually subsiding and the earthquake coming to a stop, the Poet's attack had finally utterly failed.

Nearly the whole of Metropolis had been reduced to ruins, thick smoke obscured the entire sky, even blocking the acid rain. Corpses littered the view everywhere.

As Sun Jack jumped down from the rooftop broken in two, he saw Guan Sanke not far away, excitedly waving his right hand. "Jack! We won! We won!"

Sun Jack nodded towards him. "Yes! We won! Come here a bit, the building behind you seems a bit unstable, don't get crushed----"

The next second, the leaning building behind him suddenly collapsed, crushing Guan Sanke underneath, while Sun Jack watched agape. "Damn?"

"Damn damn damn!" Regaining his senses, Sun Jack hurried over, shouting for people to come and rescue Guan Sanke.

When he finally managed to break through the thick concrete, Sun Jack saw the barely alive Guan Sanke, half of his body and half of his brain severely crushed under the concrete.

Sun Jack quickly grabbed his hand, "Hold on, the medical team will be here soon!"

Guan Sanke, with blurred consciousness, painfully opened half of his mouth and said, "I can't hold on... cough... Sun Jack... there are a few more words... you must remember."

"Speak."

"Never add... pointless romance... to 'Revolution Sun Jack'... otherwise... it will ruin the story..."
