Part 57: Lesser Beam

The lift came to a halt with a soft ding, and the doors slid open to reveal another floor of the labyrinthine facility. I stepped out into a large, dimly lit hall. The main gate at the far end was closed, but as I approached, it swung open with a creak, revealing a short, narrow passageway beyond. Green lights lined both sides of the corridor, casting an eerie glow that made my skin crawl.

Just as I was about to step inside, a memory jolted me to a halt. These types of passageways were often equipped with deadly laser beams, designed to slice intruders into pieces. The thought sent a shiver down my spine. I scanned the area and noticed a computer terminal to the side. It displayed the current setup of the laser beams, confirming my suspicions. I needed to find a way to navigate this death trap.
