Chapter 2

"Well, I was going to tell you that I found a job, so I came here," I whispered.

Nezuko sighed, "Nana, please don't tell anyone what you saw here. Do you understand?" Nezuko said.

"Yeah, I won't breathe a word about this, and I will take this secret to my grave," I replied.

"Thanks, Nana," Nezuko said.

"But anyways, what was that? It was like fire came out of your sword," I ask.

"That was a breathing style," Nezuko said.

"Breathing style?" I ask.

"It's a power or technique that was discovered a thousand years ago during the Sengoku era. And during those times, man-eating demons existed in this world. Humans used to kill them with pure swordsmanship. But one day, a gifted human was born with superhuman abilities. When this man grew up, he joined the Demon Slayer Corps and taught them breathing techniques and styles. With that, they managed to stand a chance against the demons," Nezuko said.

"That's quite a fascinating story, but why isn't it documented in history?" Nana inquired.

"Well, very few people are aware of the existence of demons, except for the survivors and members of the Demon Slayer Corps. As a result, the stories about demons were gradually forgotten over the course of 500 years," Nezuko explained.

"Wait, if it's been forgotten, how do you know all of this, Nezuko?" Nana asked.

"Just promise me you won't freak out, okay?" Nezuko replied.

"I promise that I won't," Nana said.

"Alright, here it comes... Well, the truth is I'm a demon myself," Nezuko said.

"WAIT, WHAT?" Nana shouted.

"Girl, I told you not to freak out," Nezuko said.

"Sorry, but didn't you say demons are man-eating creatures?" Nana asked, but was cut off by Nezuko.

"No, I was on the side of the demon slayers. I have never eaten or killed a single human in my life," Nezuko clarified.

"Oh, that's a relief! I thought you were going to kill me and then eat me because I know a lot," Nana said, feeling relieved.

"Why would I kill you? Well, if you have more questions, go ahead and ask," Nezuko replied.

"Well, you mentioned that demons have been forgotten for over 500 years. Does that mean the Demon Slayer Corps disbanded over 500 years ago? If so, why are you still alive after all this time?" Nana asked.

"Yes, the Demon Slayer Corps disbanded over 500 years ago after we defeated the Demon King. Or should I say, they defeated the Demon King. I didn't really participate in the final battle for personal reasons," Nezuko explained.

Nana asked about the reasons and the demon king's role. Nezuko replied, confirming that they indeed have a king. Despite being weakened multiple times due to a poison created by a fellow good demon, the demon king remained incredibly powerful. It took the collective strength of the corp's strongest members to defeat him. Nezuko explained that she didn't participate in the battle because she was the demon king's target. He desired her unique ability to walk under the sun, which no other demon had achieved.

"What do you mean by that, Nezuko? Can demons not walk under daylight?" Nana asked.

"No, usually demons will burn under the sun, but of course, I was immune to it. That's why the demon king wants to find me so he can devour me and gain my immunity to the sun," Nezuko said.

"Well, damn. How about my other question? Why are you still alive to this day?" Nana asked.

"Demons are immortal, and I just can't die. Even if I wanted to, I'm completely immortal," Nezuko said.

"Why can't you die?" Nana asked.

"For some reason, my body keeps developing immunity to everything that could have killed a demon 300 years ago. I once tried to end my life in order to be reborn as a human, but it was unsuccessful," Nezuko explained.

"Reborn?" Nana inquired.

"Yes, everyone goes through the cycle of reincarnation to be reborn as a new person. I want to be a human. I long to experience aging, having a normal family, and living a normal life. Being immortal is a curse because you witness everyone you love pass away while you remain helpless," Nezuko expressed with a sad expression.

Nana felt empathy for Nezuko, understanding the pain she must be going through but she knows that can't do anything about it.

"Well, I'm still alive, and as long as I'm alive, I'll always be your bestie," Nana said with a smile.

"Thank you, Nana... But anyway, did you get a job?" Nezuko asked.

"Yeah, I got a job at the Star-Resto, the same restaurant you work at," Nana said, with a smile on her face.

"Hehe, you got a job there," Nezuko said.

"Yeah, isn't it amazing that I get to work in one of the most famous restaurants like you?" Nana said.

"Hehe, yeah. I never thought that my bestie would be my employee one day," Nezuko said with a smirk.

"Wait, what now?" Nana said.

"The truth is, I don't work in the Star-Resto restaurant because I own it," Nezuko said.

"EHHHHHHHHH!" Nana shouted.
