This is the song Steve is listening to in chapter one in case you guys want to listen to it as you read along

Steve drags himself to work at scoop's ahoy reluctantly, knowing sitting at home by himself won't do him any good. It had only been a week since he suffered the worst heartache he's ever suffered his entire life. It felt as a part of him was missing and he didn't know how to get it back. Robin smiles at him from behind the counter as he walks up. He gives her a small halfhearted smile back and takes his place behind the counter. Robin is one of the few people who knew the true cause of his pain. She places a gentle hand on his shoulder. "Are you sure you're ok to be here Steve? I can work this shift alone if you need more time." He pats her arm lightly. "Thanks Robin, but I'm ok to work. Better than sitting at home left with my thoughts." Just then some teenagers come up to the counter carrying shopping bags and giggling, not seeming to have a care in the world. He remembered when he was happy and carefree like that. He didn't think he ever would be again. His heart felt too raw and empty now. How did people make it through something like this? The day passed all too quickly, and it was time to head back home. Steve didn't think he could handle sitting in his house by himself alone with his memories. Maybe Robin would want to hang out. Steve turns to Robin. "Hey you want to hang out or something? My treat." She looks at him sadly. I'm sorry Steve, but I have to do this annoying dinner with my family for my grandma's birthday. I can't get out of it. Maybe tomorrow night?" He sighs and nods. She hugs him and whispers in his ear "Stay strong Steve. We're all here for you." He hugs her back and gives her a small smile. He walks out with her and heads to his car. He drives slowly to his house, sadness starting to creep back in.

He unlocks his front door and enters the dark, too quiet house. Will it ever stop feeling so empty? He walks into his room, and sits on the bed. The memory of the first time Eddie saw him in his scoops ahoy outfit came back to him. (Flashback) Steve walks in to find Eddie lounging on his bed looking at a metal magazine. His mouth twitches slightly as he looks at Stephen's uniform. "Well hello there sailor. Permission to come aboard your ship?" Steve playfully swats him on the arm. "Permission granted." Eddie's look goes from playful to smoldering as he pulls Steve onto the bed and kisses him passionately. Steve plows his fingers through Eddie's hair tongue tangled with Eddie's. (End of flashback) Steve let's out an anguished cry, and jumps up from the bed. It's too quiet in here. He turns on his radio hoping music would distract him. A new song is just coming on. He recognizes the song immediately and his heart drops even further. I won't forget you by Poison is playing on the radio. Steve angrily grabs the radio, ripping the cord out of the wall so hard sparks fly. He smashes the radio against the floor, pieces flying everywhere. He grabs Eddie's vest from the top of his closet and collapses on the bed, holding the vest while sobbing loudly...
