Convincing mommy?

" Eric! Mommy is crying. I wonder if she hurt her body somewhere. " Little Diane watched her mother with her head tilted to the side a little, and a look of worry plastered to her face.

Regina's eyes fluttered open, and she found herself in her bedroom, surrounded by opulent furnishings and plush carpets. The soft, golden light of the morning sun streamed through the floor to ceiling windows, casting a warm glow over the room.

As she sat up in bed, Regina couldn't help but chuckle at the vivid dream she had just had. She rubbed her temples, trying to shake off the lingering emotions of the nightmare. It was just a dream, she reminded herself. It was all in the past anyway.

Regina smiled... Of course, it's all a dream. That was all in the past now.

" I don't think she hurt her body anywhere, Diane. " Eric, Diane's twin brother replied with a dry look plastered to his face.

" Then explain to me the reason why she could be crying, dumbo! " She rested her hands on her hips and shook her head " tsk tsk tsk. You're not observant much, only I care about mommy. "

Regina got up from the bed looking a little tired out. " Diane, don't say such things to your brother. He's not a dumbo. If you try this again next time, I'll punish you. " She scolded and ruffled her hair with her hand.

" Mommy, why were you crying then? "

" I had a bad dream, that's all honey. " She replied with a smile etched on her face as she spoke. " But it's okay now. "

Eric watched his mother from where he stood with his cool and calm demeanor in check. His deep blue eyes softened a little as he stared at his mother with a look of concern. " You have this dream everyday?" He suddenly blurted.

Before Regina could reply, Diane jumped down from the bed with a cheeky smile. " Of course not you dum— dearest brother"

" Since you're just waking up, does that mean you can't drive us to school today again?" Eric asked. He didn't want to disturb his mother, but he knew how much Diane wanted to show off their beautiful mother to the rest of her class mates. She'd dragged him down to her room immediately their caretaker finished preparing them for school.

" Yes, that's right, honey. Let Nanny Joan take you to school as usual, mommy has a lot of work to do. " She got up from the bed and went into the bathroom to wash her face.

" Why did you intervene? I was already getting her to agree you know. " Diane pouted and folded up her arms.

" I doubt. " Eric gave her a smug grin and looked away. As if on que, a know came through the door, and someone could be heard panting outside.

Diane's eyes widened. " I think the old lady found us. " She whispered.

Eric turned to leave, but felt Diane pull him by the arm. " We're only leaving with mommy!" She pouted and rested her hands on her hips.

Five year old Eric chuckled softly like she was her older brother. '' you know how tiring Mommy's job is, don't you? We can't have anyone knowing who she really is now, would we? " He patted her head comfortingly. " Come on. Stop being stubborn and let's go. "

" Stop acting like you're older! Mommy said I came out before you did, making me the more experienced twin. " Diane looked away with her face a little down knowing everything he said was true.

" Mother never said that." Eric sighed and started to walk out calmly. " Let's go already, we don't want to be late. "

" Hrmmmm... I just wanted Vicky to eat her words. I want to show her that I really have a mommy. I've seen her's and she looks like a pony!" She followed him angrily.

" Don't say things like that, Diane, it's not polite " Eric chuckled softly.

" I'm not your little sister, we're twins remember?" Diane smirked devilishly. " If Vicky talks to me today, I'll beat her up like trash. "

" Why though?" Eric replied without turning back.

" She said my mom is ugly, that's why she's too afraid to show her face in the public, and probably one of the reasons... Daddy left her. " Her tone fell the moment she said those words.

Eric took a long pause. " Really now? "

Diane smirked devilishly, but plastered it with a look of dismay. She wasn't lying, but she knew how much her brother hated hearing bad things said about their mother... Hehe

" Yes. That's why I want mom to show her face in school today. " She touched her forehead dramatically.

This whole time they'd been walking without noticing the presence of their nany walking closely behind them. After they walked out of the room. She'd been looking for them frantically and guessed they'd be in their mother's room. After all the trouble, here they were acting really cool like they didn't even see her.

''__''

" I see... " Eric smirked.

" Hmm! So should we go back and plead with mommy to follow us?" She asked excitedly.

" No, Diane. We all know that Vicky's mother is made of plastic. " He grinned silently.

" Ouuuu, really?" Diane asked in surprise. Was her brother trying to make her feel better by insulting someone? That sounds unlike him though. But how can someone be made of plastic?

Eric chuckled at his sister's bewildered look, and knew with that, Vicky was finished. He didn't mean to be wicked, but why should she insult their mother like that and go Scott free?

" Brother, you're low key wicked. " Diane giggled with a mischievous look on her face.

" We're starting the term's final exam next week though. Which means they'll be a grand visiting where parents are expected to come and check out their children's performance beforehand. " Eric informed with a small smile.

" So?" Diane quirked her head to the side.

" Humph, mother can come then." He added with an unsure tone.

" Pfft hahaha, are you trying to console me with jokes now?" Diane burst out laughing.

" I mean, I'll join you in convincing her, Diane. Don't misquote me. "He sighed.
