let her in

He closed his eyes and took in a deep breath after staring out the window for so long. His hands were in his pockets as his mind wondered off. " What troubles that man has driven me into…" he muttered and turned his back to meet his personal assistant standing by the entrance.

" I've been knocking for quite sometime now, and I imagined the worst when I got no response, I'm sorry if I disturbed you." 'Quite sometime' was quite a understatement. He'd been knocking for almost thirty minutes… How could he not assume? :!

" Mmmm…" came a simple response from Damian. He turned back to face outside with an unbothered expression. " Is there anyway I can get rid of that woman for good?" He asked with a slight smirk playing on the corners of his lips. If it weren't for his father's interference, he'd have cleared her a since long ago.

" Sir…" Adrian shivered. " For now, I guess not."

" When is the damn engagement going to take place?" As he spoke, it was clear that those words were forced. It was like taking in a punch in the gut.

" Very soon, sir. Early next month." Adrian replied with a nervous chuckle, and scratched the back of his head. He should have gotten used to him by now after working with him for so long, but, he was just so hard to fully understand.

He'd already mastered his likes and dislikes and everything reaction of his. Even if he was smiling whivh he really does, there's usually a motive behind the smile.

" I see…'' he paused, and held his chin. He had his head tilted to the side a little and smirked. " I also heard that she invited the mysterious Helen to the occasion. Is that true?"

" Yes, sir. She did." Adrian replied.

" Hm. I do hope she show's up." He replied with his expression suddenly turning cold.

" Is it so she can take a look at Mr Fredrick, sir?" Adrian asked with concerns.

It was now publicly known that Mr Fredrick Harrison was sick and would be dying soon. Everyone knows there's no cure for cancer, but it seems his boss wants to longen his father's death date.

Although it'd be diagnosed that he'd be dying five years earlier, he still managed to survive up till date, but could no longer move, speak or eat. He could only open and close his eyes.

" Yes, although there's possibility that she won't be able to save him like 70%." Damian replied, making Adrian feel special. Such a long termed conversation with his boss. Had he upgraded to that level? He was even answering his questions. His face turned a shade of red and he tried to hold back his smile.

His eyes trailed up to gaze at the masterpiece in front of him. Such beauty, such elegance. His attractiveness was just out of this world. His long white hair and his mask down. Adrian gulped. ' I'm not gay! I'm straight!' he cautioned himself inwardly and lowered his head, which he was sure was red by now. ' I'm not gay! I'm not gay! I'm not gay!' he recited in his head and closed his eyes.

Damian already had his gaze returned on his personal assistant. He noticed Adrian's facial expression and mistook it for embarrassment. He quirked his brow and was about to imagine the worst.

" What brought you here anyway?" He asked after the short moment of silence.

" I… I came to inform you that miss Sasha had asked to go out on a date with you." Adrian replied, now maintaining a professional tone.

" So she's here." Damian took slow strides towards his work space and pulled back his chair to have his seat.

" Yes, sir. Should I let her in? It's been six months since the two of you have come in physical contact." Adrian informed.

" Let her in." He replied with a soft exhale. She would be living in his house very soon, which gives him all the more reasons not to see her, but he had something important he needed to inquire from her.

Adrian, with his eyes bulged in surprise lowered his head showing a sign of respect, and left the room.

Few minutes later, a stupefied Sasha walked in to find a god-like human gazing at her intently. She swallowed hard. ' wow, I really didn't think he'd let me In. Is this it? The key to our legandary love life!'

She didn't even realize that she'd been standing at the entrance all these while until she heard his voice. " Sit." He instructed with a dry tone. His eyes looked serious and his lips were straight like he was preparing to interrogate her.

She didn't hesitate, and quickly went to take her sit right opposite to where she was sitting.

She blushed so hard, that even the cold air that lingered wasn't enough to cook her down. 'Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr' she squealed inwardly like she'd just won a lottery. ' is it me, or has he become even more handsome?' Damian tapped his fingers against his desk impatiently as he asked, " Do you actually have any information about Helen's whereabouts?"

Sasha paused in her train of thoughts and a small frown settled on her face. Is that the reason why he let me in? She pressed her lips into a thin line. Her stomach turned and her heart began to race wildly. His voice was just so enchanting… She never knew that he would be interested in Helen.

She only invited Helen to flaunt her Powers to the rest of the world, that she could do even what people deem impossible, and that too by calling upon the mysterious and globally known surgeon, Helen. It was as though that woman was nothing but good luck. Now she even made a whole Damian agree to meet her! She had to make sure Helen reaches New York by the time of their wedding.

Surely Helen wouldn't refuse an invite from the Harrisons, would she?

" Urrm… *cough. I urrm… I'm trying to reach out to her. I've already send her an invitation, and I'm sure she'll come." She replied with a proud tone and blushed. How could someone make her loose her mind so much?!

"Aeh, I see…" he replied. Truth be told, he already knew she'd be of no good use anyway. Just an invitation?" He scoffed inwardly. He'd tried to to that himself on several occasions, but she never showed up. Not that they even know what she actually looks like…
