CHAPTER 34 Presence

  Solaine's POV

"Thank you, Axel," I whispered, my voice barely audible as it floated through the air like a delicate feather. "You have gone above and beyond, tirelessly dedicating yourself to countless tasks and favors on my behalf. I couldn't have made it through without you by my side." My eyes well up with tears, cascading down my cheeks, as I softly mumble. With a desperate longing, I reach out and tightly grasp his arm, pulling him into an embrace.

He lets out a warm, hearty chuckle that fills the air, and then pulls me into a tight, comforting embrace.

"It's perfectly alright, Solaine." He spoke softly, his voice filled with genuine concern. "As long as you're fine now," he said, his eyes searching mine for any signs of lingering distress. "You must rest," he insisted, gently lowering me onto the soft mattress.

I inhaled deeply, feeling the cool rush of air fill my lungs as I sank into the plushness of the mattress, hoping to soothe the tension in my back.
