CHAPTER 36 Another Unexpected Death

  Logan's POV

This is the first time I've seen Cynthia so confident. When she was talking about plants, her eyes sparkled. I deeply regretted dismissing her earlier.

I remember from Pauls's investigation that when Cynthia was a child, she got lost in the woods for some time. When she returned, she had learned a lot about plants.

"Cynthia, I'm sorry for dismissing you earlier."

I noticed how tired she looked and looked down at the time. 1:30 am. I felt so warm inside, knowing that she had waited for me until now. "It's late now. You should rest. When they bring back the wood the day after tomorrow, you can come with me to the lab."

  "I won't disappoint you, Logan."

I looked at the plant bracelet she gave me a few days ago. I have to admit when I wear it, mosquitos never bite me, and I sleep more soundly than ever before. She always surprises me.
