Chapter 28 : Trust issues

"YN, you shouldn't have to do this to him. He barely trusts anyone. He gave himself to you and—" Alex started, but YN cut him off.

"Not everyone is like you. I'd rather die on my feet than live on my knees," she retorted, pushing past him and entering the house.

Inside, Jimin was sitting on the couch in the living room, while Suga was just coming out of a room, moving toward Jimin. As Jungkook passed by them, Jimin called out, "Where did you go?"

Jungkook ignored the question and headed to his room. Jimin, undeterred, spoke again. "What happened to him again?"

As YN stepped inside, Alex close behind, Suga's voice dripped with sarcasm. "Oh, look who's here."

Jimin's eyes widened with shock, and his voice was laced with anger as he rose from the couch. "You still have the guts to come here?" he spat.

YN met his gaze, her own eyes steely and determined. "Your friend can't live without me. He brought me here forcefully."

"Then any last wish?" Suga spoke, his tone dripping with sarcasm. "Because he's going to make your life hell."

YN straightened, meeting Suga's gaze without flinching. "I've already been through hell," she replied calmly. "So bring it on."

Jungkook emerged from his room, leaning over the railing above. "Want to meet him?" he called down, his voice cold and taunting.

YN looked up at Jungkook, her resolve hardening. "Yes," she said firmly. "Take me to him."

Jungkook's smirk widened as he descended the stairs, his movements slow and deliberate. His hair was messy, but he still looked so charming. "Beg me," he said, his voice cold but soft. "Maybe I'll let you meet him."

YN stared at him, her eyes burning with defiance. She refused to show weakness, but the thought of Taehyung suffering pushed her pride aside. "Please," she said, her voice steady. "Let me see him."

Jungkook's smile grew, clearly pleased with her submission. He stepped closer, his gaze locked onto hers. "Good girl," he murmured, almost mockingly. He gestured to the guards. "Take her to the room," his voice was loud and commanding, laced with anger. "And lock the door."

Jimin and Suga, visibly conflicted, tried to find ways to help YN without exacerbating the precarious situation. They kept a close eye on Jungkook's movements, searching for vulnerabilities they could exploit. However, they knew Jungkook's anger well and treaded carefully.

The guards approached YN, their grips firm but not harsh. "Is that what you want? Okay, fine," YN said resignedly.

They led her down a corridor and into a room. As they closed the door behind her, the sound of the lock clicking into place echoed ominously. YN looked around the room, taking a deep breath to calm herself.

Moments later, the door opened again, and Jungkook stepped inside. He closed the door behind him, locking it once more. His expression was unreadable, but there was a dark intensity in his eyes.

"Why are you doing this, Jungkook?" YN demanded. "What do you want from me?"

Jungkook approached her, his movements slow and deliberate. He reached out, brushing a strand of hair from her face. "I want you to understand," he said, his eyes burning with intensity, "that everything has a price."

"Do you hate me that much?" YN challenged, feeling her back against the wall as Jungkook loomed closer.

"Who said I hate you?" Jungkook replied, his voice low and chilling. He held her chin tightly, his grip firm and unyielding. "Hate is a feeling I don't have, not even a shred of it for you."

YN felt a shiver run down her spine as Jungkook's touch sent a wave of unease through her. "You already knew about my identity, didn't you?" YN said, trying to understand his motives.

"Hm," Jungkook hummed cryptically.

"Then why didn't you reveal me?" YN pressed further.

"I already warned you not to become another story of betrayal in my life," Jungkook said coldly. "I never give anyone a single chance, but still you... The only main difference between you and me is that you play games and I play tricks. I lied and you believed me. Who's the stupid one?"

YN felt a rush of emotions as tears began to well up in her eyes. She clenched her fists, trying to hold back the tears.

Jungkook observed her silently, his expression unreadable. He watched her silently, his face unreadable. Even though YN's tears were starting to appear, Jungkook didn't let it affect him. He kept his calm and composed manner without showing any emotion.

"Hold onto those tears," Jungkook continued calmly. "You'll need them in the future."He wiped the tear from her cheek with his hand, then left the room and locked the door from the outside.
