Chapter 29 : Beneath the Surface

YN stood in the middle of the room, her mind racing. She knew she had to be strong, not just for herself, but for Taehyung. The sound of the lock clicking had barely faded when she heard a soft knock on the door.

"YN, it's me," a familiar voice whispered. It was Jimin. "I'm going to help you."

"Jimin, you shouldn't be here. If Jungkook finds out..."

"He won't," Jimin interrupted. "Just listen. There's a small window in the bathroom. It leads to the backyard. You need to get out of here and find Taehyung."

YN's eyes widened. "Are you serious?"

Jimin nodded. "Go now. I'll distract the guards."

"Thank you," YN whispered, her heart pounding. She rushed to the bathroom, finding the window just as Jimin had said. It was a tight fit, but she managed to squeeze through and drop down to the backyard.

YN moved through the underground passages with Jimin, their footsteps echoing against the cold, damp walls. She heard a faint, desperate voice calling out, "Help me... please, leave me alone..."

"Who's there?" YN called, her voice steady despite the fear bubbling inside her.

Jimin emerged from the shadows and grabbed her wrist. "Come with me," he whispered urgently.

"Jimin, answer me! Who's there? What do you guys gain by torturing innocent people?" YN demanded, yanking her hand free.

Jimin's face was tense, beads of sweat forming on his forehead. He knew the risk he was taking by helping her. If Jungkook found out, there would be dire consequences. Her words stung, making him briefly angry. "YN, you don't have the right to judge anyone. As for who's there, this isn't the time or place to discuss it. Now, move."

He led her to a locked door at the end of the corridor. Producing a key from his pocket, he unlocked it and swung the door open to reveal a small, dimly lit room. Taehyung was inside, tied to a chair, his hands bound, his expression weary but hopeful as he looked up and saw YN.

"YN," Taehyung whispered, relief flooding his voice. "YN?"

Before YN could respond, the door swung open again, and a figure entered, chuckling and shaking his head. It was Jungkook. All Jimin could think was, Why did I help her?

Jungkook's smile was cold and calculating. "You really want to meet him that badly?"

YN looked up at Jungkook, her resolve hardening. "What do you want me to do?" she said firmly.

"You'll find out soon enough," Jungkook replied, turning to leave. "For now, enjoy your reunion. It might be your last."

YN clenched her fists, anger simmering beneath the surface.

As Jungkook left the room, he gave Jimin a dead glare, making it clear there would be consequences for his actions. He motioned for Jimin to take her back to her room. Jimin remained at the doorway, torn between his loyalty and his sense of right.

YN rushed to Taehyung's side, her voice filled with determination. "We'll get you out of here," she whispered. "I promise."

Taehyung nodded, his eyes filled with trust. "I know you will."

Jimin stepped forward, his voice low but urgent. "YN, we need to go now. You don't know Jungkook hyung's temper. He already found out I helped you..."

YN turned to Jimin, her eyes full of gratitude and urgency. "I understand. Let's move."

Jimin led YN away from Taehyung, ensuring she was safely back in her room. All the while, his mind was racing. His loyalty was being tested, and he could only hope he made the right choices.

"Jimin," YN called just before he closed the door behind her.

He opened the door slightly, peering inside. "Hm... What happened?" he asked.

"I'm sorry," YN began, her voice filled with regret. "I shouldn't have said those things to you. It was my bad. But you still haven't told me—who was that person calling out for help?"

Jimin sighed, his expression softening. "It's okay, YN. I understand your frustration." He paused, glancing around to ensure no one else was listening.

"The person you heard is a human trafficker. now you must be wondering what that human trafficker is doing here. When the law become so bureaucratic, then someone with power tries to help others, but at the end of the story they becomes murderers, mafia...." he stop's for a moment ,

"YN... sometimes what we see is not what actually is , let's just say that sometimes, the people who are supposed to protect us are the ones who end up hurting us the most. And sometimes, the ones who seem evil on the surface are actually fighting for good . Don't trust someone who asks you to close your eyes." Jimin said to YN, his voice tinged with a mix of frustration and resignation. With that cryptic message, he left her standing in her room, his words lingering in the air.

YN stood there, puzzled and anxious. "What does he mean?" she whispered to herself, her mind swirling with questions and uncertainties..
