Cash in beauty

"How dare you?" Castello shouted while grabbing Markos' collars. Just then two men approached and pulled Castello away. "I will see you, bastard! I will destroy you! Just wait and watch!" He kept on shouting while the guards dragged him out. Patrick was equally confused because no one called those men. All of them assumed that Markos was some bigshot.

Patrick came forward with curiosity as he didn't recognise Markos. Who would've when he wasn't that nerd guy in baggy clothes and weird haircut anymore? "May I ask who you are? Sorry, I don't think you are on the guest list." It was the moment when Valeria wriggled out of his embrace and grabbed Markos' hand. She smiled at Patrick while switching her gaze towards him.

"I think we should leave now, Markos. Excuse us, Patrick. It was nice meeting you all." Valeria tried to pull Markos away intending to leave. It was when Patrick's memory finally clicked and he stopped them. Why wouldn't he? No one had expected that Markos would actually come. Though nobody sent him any invite to begin with, which gave Patrick an excuse to ridicule him.

"Not so fast! Markos from our batch?" Patrick laughed hard while Markos stayed there intentionally. His hands were in the pocket of his jeans while Valeria stood beside him a bit backwards. Markos noticed the way she acted fidgety as if she didn't want to be seen with him. "What the heck are you doing here? Hah, bro! Who even invited you here?" Patrick questioned in a mocking tone.

Markos said nothing, instead Valeria tried to handle the situation. "Please, Patrick. There is no need for this. Please." She grabbed Markos hand and tried to pull him again. Whereas, the other batchmates who were there walked forward. "Let's go, Markos." Valeria glanced at him while pleading as she didn't want any more embarrassment. However, he didn't seem to be in the mood.

"You seem to know him, goodness! Is it true, Valeria?" Patrick laughed in a mocking tone while Stella stood there quietly. "After being dumped by Castello, your standards really dropped into hell. Who would have thought that the filthy rich Valeria Hayden, who once had high and untouchable standards; is now sleeping with a loser!?" Markos glanced at her, while she tried to avoid those stares.

It still stung him that Valeria didn't see him equal to her let alone worthy of her. She had been avoiding looking up to anyone, Markos hated the way Valeria felt vulnerable. "Tell me, are you short of money that you have resorted to sleeping with him? Come on, I can introduce you to some bigshot." Patrick leaned in and grabbed her hand, which made Markos raise an eyebrow.

"What? Are you angry now?" Patrick chuckled when Stella, his wife, grabbed his arm to stop her husband. Whereas, Markos still didn't move or took his hands out of his pockets. Instead, he glanced at Valeria to see if she wanted him to butt in or not. "Even if Valeria is broke now, she still doesn't deserve a loser like you. She can cash in her beauty if she wants to."

Valeria couldn't believe what she just heard, lifting her head she looked into Patrick's eyes with disbelief. He raised his hand and traced knuckles over her cheek in a seductive manner. "You know Valeria, this hotel is owned by Moreno corp. I heard the guy is a rich brat and loves women. I can introduce you to him." The way he talked daringly while Stella kept quiet, Markos could comprehend the way Patrick treated his wife.

"But you have to do something for me." Patrick looked up and down at her which disgusted Valeria. She had never thought that things would turn that way one day. Looking at Stella in disbelief she pitied her as to why she married Patrick. "Oh don't worry about her. Stella knows her place." Patrick didn't even look back at his wife, as if he was used to pulling such stunts often.

When Valeria didn't find any help from Stella, she finally looked back at Markos. The way her teary eyes silently pleaded to him, a smirk appeared on his lips. Markos gestured to one of the guards who immediately appeared with the manager. "Clear out this hall and settle their bills. Five minutes." The manager nodded, upon recognising Markos from his recent visit.

"Duh! Who do you think you are? I know the owner of this hotel." Patrick insisted on his claim when the guards tried to push him. Meanwhile, upon the manager's request the other batch mates had already started to leave the hall. However, Patrick began to struggle to fight while trying to approach Markos. In the attempt one guard pushed him harder and Patrick fell over the table.

Markos pulled Valeria while placing his arm over her shoulders. His whole attention was towards Patrick who had broken a few glasses and cutlery. "Oh, add those damages to his bill too. Since, he knows the owner." Markos grinned at the manager who nodded, while the guards casted out the guests. After the hall was emptied Markos looked at Valeria who was shivering in his arms.

He couldn't understand what was happening to her when Markos lifted her face by holding her chin. Valeria casted a look at him with her teary eyes before her vision blurred and she fainted. "The heck, woman!?" Markos immediately scooped her in his arms. Panic grew in his heart assuming her vitals might have dropped or something. Markos yelled at one of his men to get the car ready.

Instead of taking Valeria to her own house where she would have been under stress all the time. Markos took her to his own place where he had already called a doctor. Miss Agnes had prepared the bedroom and clothes for her. During the way Markos couldn't help but keep on checking her forehead. Rubbing Valeria's hands while her head laid in his lap Markos felt as if his own heart had stopped for a while.
