CHAPTER 14

At Mark's Apartment
"You've gone too far Mark" Lucinda yells at Mark as he sits on a couch in his dimly lit apartment , taking a sip of a wine from a glass cup " how could you.....how could you hurt her again"
Mark drops the cup and looks at Lucinda "what do you mean I hurt her again, why are you excluding yourself Lucy"
"I didn't....do anything.." Lucy hesitates
" You better get a grip of yourself Lucy,Why are you acting all good and nice now when we've already come this far,you stole her boyfriend and watched her get into an accident and unfortunately ended in a coma and now she's in the hospital again,you have been conspiring with us against her and you say you didn't do anything?" Mark smirks
" I never planned to hurt Amy " Lucinda yells
" You should have thought of that before entering a relationship with me and joining forces with them" Mark scoffs
" I had no idea the two of you were together,I would never have betrayed her that way and if not for my sister I would never have betrayed her mum either in the past or join forces with you and those bloody bastards" Lucinda yells as tears Wells up in her eyes
" You better lower your voice, remember we're being watched and besides I had no other choice than to attack her from behind,she was being persistent and would have seen that person" Mark says as he remains sitted
"How could you be so cold and heartless,you were never like this,she loved you....she loved us" Lucinda says weakly as she remembers the way Amelia always smiled and played with her whenever she came around. Lucinda looked up, her eyes filled with regret and guilt. "I never wanted to hurt Amelia, Mark. I thought this was just about money, not about ruining lives."
" And I loved her too.... until I found out she was responsible for the deaths of my parents" Mark says clenching his fists and Lucinda grows quiet
" How is that possi..." Lucinda tried to ask but is cut off by Mark changing the topic
" Anyways we've already started and we can't quit now, and don't try to do anything stupid or I can't guarantee your safety" Mark says and he gets up and walks towards his room and slams the door shut
"I'm sorry Amy" she whispers to herself as she collapse on a couch and stares at the ceiling intently
'But how is Amelia responsible for Mark's parents death,I thought they committed suicide,I have to get to the bottom of this,it's the only way I can repay Amy back for hurting her' Lucinda thinks to herself.

Cindy walked through the hospital and got Amelia's room and stood in front of the door,she took and deep breath and opened the door that revealed Amelia seated on the bed with a band aid wrapped around her head and Josh sitting next to her and discussing with her and they both looked at her as she walked into the room with her face etched with concern. "Amy! I came as soon as I heard. What happened?"
Amelia, let out a warm smile. "It's a long story, Cee. But I'm okay. Just a little banged up."
Cindy pulled up a chair and sat beside the bed, her eyes scanning Amelia for any signs of serious injury. "You scared me,what exactly happened"
Amelia took a deep breath and looked at Cindy with a firm look " I was attacked when I tried to confront the one who paid the driver to hit my car"
" What" Cindy exclaimed " why wasn't I aware of this,you're just a magnet for danger aren't you"
" I'm sorry Cee but I'm fine" Amelia smiles
" Being bandage and in a hospital doesn't signifies being fine" Cindy says
" Atlest I'm one step closer to finding out what's actually going on " Amelia says to Cindy trying to assure her
" She's right" Josh chips " as much as I hate the fact that she got hurt at least she got new clues"
" What am I missing here" Cindy questions
" I might have an idea on who paid the driver,the mysterious person is a lady and I might know who she is" Amelia explains
"Are you Being serious" Cindy asks " As much as I want you to be free from this case, I don't want you getting hurt, stop doing dangerous things and you Josh why didn't you protect her "
" Stop it Cee,Josh tried his best and I promise I'm fine" Amelia assures " you should be happy,we're about to wrap up this case"
" Indeed we're about to wrap up" Cindy says
" Can I ask you something Cee" Amelia asks
" Since when did u need permission to ask me things" Cindy mocks and Amelia chuckles
"You won't betray me right" Amelia ask making the atmosphere tense
" What kind of question is that,is this one of your 'trying to figure out how your power works thing' " Cindy scoffs
" Just answer me Cee,I need to know"
" We've been friends for a long time and I enjoyed every moment of our friendship so no I won't because I don't want to end our friendship" Cindy says heartfully
"That's so sweet,I almost let out a tear" Josh mocks
Amelia looks at Cindy and the dot on her head glows warm green
" Thanks Cee" Amelia smiles
" No problem,but I have to go now,duty calls but I will be back later"
" Alright Cee,catch you later then" Amelia says
" Take care of her Josh and keep me updated" Cindy says and Josh nods and she leaves the room
"Are you sure we shouldn't tell her about the Come and the doctor" Josh questions
" We will but not yet" Amelia responds " there's something off about Cindy ,she's been too distant, can you get someone to keep an eye on her and gather up as much details as you can about her"
" Sure but didn't you just test her now, was she lying" Josh questions with a worried look, he knows how close Cindy and Amelia are and how much Amelia cherish her
"She was saying the truth but something was off about her truth, she doesn't know my power has reached an awakened state " Amelia explains
" But she was saying the truth so what could be off,I don't think anyone can forge an answer to such a question because it deals with the heart" Josh adds " so what exactly could be off about her plus we've know her since we were kids"
" That's what I'm trying to find out,and I hope I can find out, Cindy isn't someone I want to loose" Amelia says with a worried look "I just hope I'm worried for nothing...."
