2: Dual Swords Of Solace, More Like Dual Swords Of Divine Misfortune.

Another year went by and his general treatment around the grand house of the Mystic clan declined even more.

Gossip spread throughout the place about the master's youngest son being unable to use magic; it was the very reason why they wanted to hide him since he was nothing but a burden to their pride.

His list grew larger each day; one of all the special areas; canyons, valleys, deserts, and mountains; one of all the special characters, not necessarily major but possessed a class that rivaled that of others and lastly, every artifact that would grant him a power boost aside the system heart.

He was brimming with joy as he stared at the list; his dream was only a few more years away from being seen through.

" I'll become so powerful those curses won't know what hit 'em."

But he thought about the artifact requirements as well; he could only link up with systems that were of the same tier as him.

A system evolves once a certain level milestone has been reached and then requires other ascension materials before it can evolve to the next tier.

Tier 1 Lvl1 – Lvl20, Tier 2 Lvl21 – Lvl40, Tier 3 Lvl41 – Lvl50, Tier 4 L51 - Lvl60, Tier 5 Lvl61 – Lvl70, Tier 6 Lvl71 – Lvl70.

That was the stages and process and stages of leveling up and evolution in the new world in which he found himself.

Leveling was extremely hard but evolution was a whole other question; Only a few managed to make it up to Tier 5.

If he was to be guaranteed survival, then he had to surpass the last Tier and enter a stage called divinity; the last ascension before reaching the maximum world level, but it was capable of being surpassed.

Since he was still very young, he spent most of his daily hours locked alone in his room while the maid would come to visit every once in a while.

Under normal circumstances, he would have left the room a long time ago but doing so would arouse many questions and suspicions.

Three more years later, it seemed that a new light of hope had finally shone for him; it was the day of his weapon reception, and he might hopefully get a decent one to aid his endeavors.

One's system was what determined what type of weapon they would have to stick to for the entirety of their lifetime.

He had grown quite big and had no problems walking on his own; led by his father, they both slowly walked into the underground facility located underneath the castle.

As they walked in, what was a typically very dark room began to slowly light up a treasure trove of weapons was revealed before him.

" Now then Nexus, have your system choose what weapon is best suited for it." His father said as they both stood in the center of the room.

" There are over a hundred to choose from and all lined up based on their quality."

He was lost in thought at what weapon his system would choose for him; he didn't know more than fifty percent of the weapons lined up before him, only remembered the exceptional ones.

This path in his life could be his way to downfall or great strength; every weapon had a different path and some of the weapon types were well known around the world.

He left his father's side, slowly walking towards the line of swords in hopes that his system would at least pick out a decent one for him.

Deep down he knew that his hopes were very unlikely, after all the higher ranked a class is the higher the chances of the system picking out a good weapon; he didn't have a class, let alone the chances of getting a good weapon.

Ding!

[Weapon successfully chosen]

[Tier 1 Advanced dual blades]

[Title: Twin blades of solace Lv1]

[+10 strength]

[-5 stamina]

[-2 Agility]

[Passive: When in use at the same time for twenty minutes, the twin blades will grant the wielder solace; granting them ten percent of attack speed for 30 secs; cool down 10 mins.

This skill is active only when both blades are wielded and is canceled once one of the blades is no longer in use or is damaged.]

The weapons which his system had picked out for him slowly floated towards him and though hesitantly, he welcomed them both with warm arms.

The weapon was quite decent, considering that it was an advanced weapon but the conditions it placed on him were ones he wasn't sure he could keep.

" Honestly, it wasn't like your system would choose based on its class. Quite decent to say the least but not what I would expect from the likes of you."

He didn't know if those from his father were to cheer him up or just beat him around about how worthless he seemed at that moment.

" My soul is going to be bound to this worthless piece of junk for the rest of my life." He thought, staring at the dual blades one more time.

They were both 0.2 meters in length with hilts like that of a katana. Their blades were thin and plain with a very sharp edge mixed up with a slightly yellowish brown that coated the entirety of their bodies.

" Very well then, let's get moving." His father said as he turned around and slowly left the room while he followed behind.

As soon as he was out of the facility, they both went their separate ways once again; his birthday wasn't even remembered by any members of the house again.

" Well, then brother, ready to dwell your elder sister in a battle of weapons alone."

He looked up, on his way upstairs to his room to see a girl with snow white hair standing at the top of the stairs with a longsword firmly held with both of her hands.

" You do know you're not supposed to use that in here right?" He questioned, trying to put a smile on his face.

" Your swords look pretty, can I see them?"

He couldn't help but be stung by her hands although she meant him no harm; of course, they were pretty, pretty unfortunate.

He looked at the swords one last time and tried to quickly begin the ritual to summon them away.

A swish was all he heard before the blades were no longer in his arms and his elder sister was standing right by his side, admiring the colorful pair of blades.

" Why did my sword have to come with such a boring color, would have been if it was at least silver."

Her black longsword had already been summoned away by her and after a while of looking at the weapons, she paused for a moment and stared straight at him; she had seen what he was trying to hide and it didn't seem like she was planning to let go of him.

" You've seen the passives of this weapon right?"

" Yes." He answered, turning his gaze to the floor.

" Here," she said, slowly handing it back to him, " I guess sometimes the saying to never judge a book by its cover actions comes in handy hehehehe."

With that, she slowly continued her journey down the stairs, leaving to cry his balls out at how useless of a weapon the dual blades were.

This alone was proof enough, he needed to grow up fast and leave the castle on his search for his golden finger.
