3: Lvl6? Out Before It Began.

Due to his lack of mystic energy, he was deemed useless by his family; forced to live in no place other than his room.

Of course, no one would punish him for walking around the clan estates but he decided not to for the sake of what it could result in.

His mother was his father's third wife and of course, looked upon by his other wives; it wouldn't be a surprise if they took his deficiency as an advantage against her.

He couldn't think of anything reasonable they could do but his pride was one thing he also wanted to keep safe as well.

The only places he visited were his sister's room and the courtyard which he only went to in the evening to avoid being seen by people.

He was already the talk of the clan anyway and even though the other members wouldn't dare do anything against him, the same couldn't be said for some of his ruthless siblings.

*Knock* *knock*

" Hey Nexus, you there?"

He instantly turned his gaze to the door as soon as he heard the voice; his sister had come to visit him once again, a daily occurrence over the past month.

He stood up from the wooden floor where he was sitting and quickly rushed towards the door with a smile on his face; as much as she was annoying, sometimes her cheerfulness was all it took to blow away the fog that covered his heart.

She instantly rushed into the room and wrapped her arms around him, pushing him forward as they both went straight to the floor.

" Guess what?"

Her voice was filled with joy and enthusiasm but he wasn't ready to make any comments on that due to his head which was now throbbing in pain.

" You okay... brother?" She asked, after noticing that he had been unresponsive for a while.

She finally decided to look down only to see that he was staring up at her with a huge frown on his face.

" Oh... I'm really sorry about that." She apologized, slowly getting up from his body.

He heaved a slight sigh as he turned to his belly and faced the wall to the other side of his room.

" What?"

Her happy face had turned a bit gloomy after seeing her brother's disheartening attitude but it returned immediately after he asked the question.

" I just gained a new wind skill and my talent increased as well. It's only a matter of time before I start showing those ruthless curses whose boss, yeah."

Her words were filled with joy at the accomplishment she just made; achieving a skill was something that got harder as systems went by and they became better with each one achieved.

As much as he wanted to smile at his sister's happiness and hard work, he felt disheartened at what this world held for her.

He had written the story with inspiration from a very popular anime which he enjoyed back in the day.

Every moment of the MC's suffering felt mesmerizing to him and he wanted to do nothing but create a similar main character, one who could face all his obstacles and still come out the same as he was no matter what happened.

But in an attempt to make the story more worthwhile, he sought inspiration from other stories as well and ended up staying from his previously desired path.

He was only able to remember only a few of the characters who he had created because of one specific reason; they all died and only those who managed to struggle came to his mind.

His elder sister was three years older than him and he was five. It was only a matter of five more years before she would be sent to the outside to study more on curses and help the world combat them.

" Have you ever seen a real-life curse before?" He asked, turning towards her with a blank expression on his face.

" Relax okay." She said, flapping her hands slightly before him, " I've faced a few basic curses which dad allowed me to train with, they were quite tough but you know as well as I do that I would prevail."

" I don't want to play today, so you can go play on your own." He said, turning back towards the wall.

She paused for a while as she stared at him, biting her lower lip as she thought of what to do next; she wanted to ask him for a favor but didn't know how to go about it.

" You know mother's pregnant... right?"

His eyes widened as he stared blankly at the wall; Olivia wasn't supposed to have a second more of a third.

The fact that she was about to give birth to a third child meant that the plot of the story was being altered and it was obviously because of him.

" I'm sure a mere subjection such as pregnancy wouldn't drag a strong woman such as her down. Our mother should be able to..."

" It's been six months."

He had been cut short by her only to be shocked to his bones once again; not only was that the period of time since she had been pregnant, but it was also the length of time since he had last seen her.

" Aren't there others around to help, I'm too tired to do anything right now." He said, placing his face on the ground.

The next thing he felt was the collar of his shirt being tugged before he was pulled up from the floor.

He was pulled along with her, outside his room and down the stairs their socks pulling on the floor as they moved along.

The building had a mixture of Japanese and Western art styles; concrete walls and wooden floors along with Shoji's and tatami floorings in some parts of the rooms.

They went past the veranda and onto the courtyard and it was only then that she decided to let go of him.

" Now then brother, this is where you summon your own weapons." She said, her sword instantly appearing on her held-out palm.

He looked up at her in shock to see that she had already held her sword and stepped back slightly away from him.

Her legs were slightly spaced out with her back held straight, ready for any attacks that may come towards her.

She was serious and tuned in to begin training with him; he couldn't turn her down, not when they'd both come this far.

Reluctantly, he took the same fighting stance as her with both his hands held and folded into a fist; his blade appeared, held by them as his gaze slowly shifted towards them.

Even though faint, he could see a glow emitting from his sister's sword. Whether it was a passive, a skill, or something he didn't know he had to wait for twenty minutes before he could use his sword's passive.
