She was trembling in fear as she quickly turned around to see her greatest fear slowly walking towards her.
Though the curses they were up against were of a considerably high level, their level of experience said everything there was about them.
Cusres are creatures born through negative human emotions and only a few manage to break through this binding, depending on the amount of negative energy with which they were born.
These were curses born with so little negative energy they were inevitably bound to the place where they were born, the long-abandoned school.
Having to do nothing else but feed on each other and the little surrounding negative energy, the only experience they ever had was battling against each other.
But what's the worst that could happen when a bunch of kids decide to take on trained, maniacal killing machines designed especially for them?
The winner is always known, and never has it not been one-sided...
Gritting her teeth hard she instantly charged straight toward her opponent who was approaching her.
She swung her fist straight towards her, but Nora grabbed it on time with her left hand and went for a punch to her elbow with her right, before sending her flying straight towards where she had just come from.
Holding out her right hand, blood began to gather around her palm and began to slowly form a darkened red mold which hardened into a mini blood knife.
With it, she charged straight towards the curse that had inhabited her form.
The curse was now back on its feet and swung its fist at her once again but its attack was twice as fast.
She was able to dodge the fiat and quickly went for a slash with her newly made weapon upon seeing the opening that had now been created for her.
The knife only barely grazed the curse's right shoulder and was headed for its neck before it shifted away its head.
Slightly off balance, it raised its right hand and swung its fist towards Nora once again.
Nora had moved her head backward while her earlier attack was still in motion and it was the reason why she hadn't moved closer when her weapon missed its throat.
The fist had basically gone straight past her face and with that, she quickly made a three hundred and sixty degrees turn as she bent down slightly.
She kept her left on the ground as she stabbed the knife into the curse's right thigh and quickly stood up immediately after that to perform a horizontal three hundred and sixty degrees kick straight to its head.
The momentum of the impact sent the curses head flinging to the side as she slid her feet against the ground trying to regain her balance.
The curse opened its jaw wide and roared loudly in pain as it turned its gaze towards the one who had caused it all the pain.
It charged towards Nora once more with the intention of damaging once more but all its attempts were futile; somehow the girl was able to dodge all of its attacks before it could even move.
With each attack, it made a blood knife was stabbed into its body and the blood would slowly flow into her body and through her veins.
All of the girl's attacks were precise with the aim of hitting her veins while avoiding any vital ones so as to not end the fight, or maybe its suffering for a better description.
" Why don't you try again and do better." She said with a slight chuckle, licking off the time blood that was slowly dropping from another knife she had just created.
She slowly placed the knife on the top of her forefinger and with a slight pull of her thumb, sent it flying straight towards the curse.
*Crack!"
The sound of glass shattering echoed far out from where they were and the curse stood there as it slowly dissolved into nothing but black smoke.
" Well, it seems I was bested." It mumbled as it slowly disintegrated into nothing but thick black smoke.

As soon as Alex walked into the curse's trap, he landed on his face in a place not familiar to him.
" A curse trying to use genjutsu against me is something I never dreamt would happen. At least against one with this level of strength." He thought, taking in a deep breath as he slowly raised his head.
" Ying, do me a favor and deal with whatever it is causing this mirage." He mumbled as he slowly got up from the ground.
A moment after he said that, a great gush of wind ensued before him, and soon after a lady dressed in white robes appeared before him.
" I'd prefer it if you didn't refer to me in such manners." She said turning her gaze towards him with a stern look on her face.
Alex simply smiled unconventionally as he slowly turned away and slowly began to walk away from her.
A loud clap resounded behind him as she placed her hands together and closed her eyes.
Slowly, the mystic energy within her began to flow out towards every single point around her and continued to move forward in search of any forms of negative energy that needed to be dealt with.
To her greatest surprise though there weren't any curses present up to the point where the advance of her mystic energy came to an abrupt stop.
She instantly stopped the ritual and opened her eyes wide-eyed.
" That presence I felt just now... I'm sure of it... It must have been him but what could he be doing here of all places." She pondered.
Coming back to the realization of her current obligations at the moment, she closed her eyes once again and continued with what she was doing.
After her mystic had enclosed the entire school grounds, she flooded the excess mystic energy into all living curses, causing overloads and great aftermaths of explosions.
The mirage was dissolved and she vanished into thick black smoke which slowly floated towards Alex.

They all returned back after a successful and luckily no one had sustained any serious injuries apart from Nora.
It had now been a week since the mission and the four of them were called to the office of the man who went by the name of Leroy called them to his office.
He had the usual sunglasses on his face and his annoying cheeky smile was far more deepened compared to the other times they had seen him.
" I'm quite sorry Alex but you weren't part of those who I called." He said, standing up from his chair, "Feel free to stay either way. I called you all here to announce something very important but there is someone I want you all to meet first."
A moment after he said that, a knock came on the room's door and it was slowly opened up.
They all felt an ominous presence at the door and immediately turned around to see who it was.
In walked Lady Miko in her usual red kimono outfit and behind her was Niya Mystic wearing a black uniform.
Behind her was her troublesome younger brother...
Nexus Mystic.
