It's a Magical Day Pt. 2

Opie POV

This was insane I was following Chibs and his witch daughter into what is essentially another world and I'm bringing my kids. I trust Chibs enough to bring them but that doesn't make me any less nervous. We finally got to the entrance of the market when it finally hits me Kenny and Ellie have magic so this is their world as well. 'I will put that freak out aside for later.' I said to myself as I took Sophia's hand in mine. We walked into a dark alley and my nerves began to rise, just when I thought I was gonna lose it Chibs opened a door at the end of the alley that wasn't there a moment ago. My grip on Sophia's hand tightened, she squeezed my hand back in an attempt to comfort me or at least I hope that's what she is doing.

We went down a few flights of stairs and walked through an arch Kenny was holding on to Soph's entire right arm and Ellie was holding onto my neck in a death grip until they saw the market in all it's glory. It was breathtaking the building themselves looked like they were strait out of the 1920's but you could just tell it was magical not just because of the flying dragon lizard things, there were some people around but not many and the bank Soph and Chibs kept mentioning was front and center with a few shops on either side. I could also see small passages to other areas where I could see more shops and a few stalls set up. It was so freaking awesome I wish Jax was here to see it as well he would be just as excited as me if not more so.

Ellie had finally loosened her grip and was begging to get down I was hesitant to let her afraid she would get lost. Soph seeing my worry looked at Ellie and said, "I know it's amazing and you want to explore but I need you to be patient. Can you do that for me sweetie?" Ellie looked at her and nodded with a shy smile. I looked Soph in the eye and mouthed 'Thank you.' She simply smiled and took Kenny's hand before leading us all to the bank. We walked into the bank and up to a tellers window the goblins freak me out they are stubby and mean looking, but Chibs and Soph don't look fazed by them. Also one of the rules that Soph gave was to not be rude to the goblins that run the bank so I'm gonna keep my opinions to myself i thought as I tighten my hold on Ellie. Kenny looks around with awe and a little envy of the giant axe he saw strapped to one of the guard goblins which made me chuckle because who wouldn't want an axe like that it's freaking gorgeous. I don't know how practical it is in a fight but I have a feeling that I shouldn't underestimate any of these goblins or their weapons.

Soph must have noticed Kenny staring and said, "It's beautiful isn't it? But don't let it's beauty fool you that axe is probably the deadliest weapon you will ever see. Goblins are know for there craftsmanship when it come to the effectiveness of there blades. They are a warrior nation who pride themselves on their prowess on the battle field. They are also shrewd negotiators when it comes down to their own profit so always be prepared when you need to make a deal with a goblin." Kenny nodded at her with wrapped attention. The goblin at the window we were closest to must have heard us because they had the biggest grin on their face that honestly gave me the chills. I think I like their scowling face better and that's saying something, Ellie must have agreed with me because she buried her head into the crook of my neck to avoid having to look at him.

Sophia finally looked to the goblin and politely said, "Hello, I'm Sophia McGonagall-Telford I need to meet with Stormaxe he is my account manager for this branch." The goblin looked at her in surprise and said, "I will notify him of you presence, wait over there Lady McGonagall." I looked at her with curiosity as we made our way over to the waiting area. She sighed and said, "During the war we had to get something from Gringotts to help with winning the war. We were supposed to have the help of a goblin that had been captured by the enemy that we had rescued. It turned out that he was wanted by the goblin king for treason and was trying to use us to work out a pardon. I caught on to his plot and went to the king with all the information that I had gathered. We managed to destroy the item we needed to and save the dragon that was guarding the vaults from being killed by the goblin betrayer. It's because of this I hold a small amount of favor with the goblin nation as a whole. They hate betrayers, thief's and wizards, especially wizards who don't follow the rules they set out for what is allowed to be left in the vaults which is technically inside of the goblin nation."

I nodded in understanding, I knew she left out some major details but I assume she did it because of the kids being here. I just hope that she will tell us everything one day so that we can help her I know Chibs is worried about all the shit she has gone through. After a few more minutes of talking about the goblins and their customs we were called into another office where a goblin was seated behind a large desk with a ledger book open in front of him. Soph walked up to him shook his hand and said, "It's lovely to see you again Stormaxe." The goblin smiled and said, "It hasn't been that long since your last visit. What can I do for you today Lady McGonagall?" She looked at me and grabbed my hand and squeezed before she said, "I need to register these two lovey children as my magical wards. Their father is a no-maj or a squib I can't tell that much, so we might need to test it but Kenny and Ellie certainly have magic." I looked down at Sophia in shock because she is trying to take my kids from me I was about to start a fight with her when Chibs' hand came down on my shoulder and he shook his head. It took me a great deal of effort to reign in my temper but i managed to keep my cool before I heard her answer a question from the goblin that I must have missed in my silent exchange with Chibs.

"Yes, I need to put them under the protection of my house while keeping their father as their sole guardian. I would just be their magical guardian for safety sake. My Da and him are brothers in arms so to speak so they are my family. I need to protect them from certain factions." That's when my anger was completely washed away she wasn't trying to take my kids from me she was trying to protect them with me. It was like my world shifted on it's access, not even their mother has gone this far for them and here Soph was putting her house name on the line to keep my kids safe. She didn't even know us but because we were Chibs' family we were hers and that meant the world to me. Ellie perked up from my shoulder and Kenny straitened his spine in his seat as we all listened to her talk about keeping them safe. She even went as far as to set up a trust vault for the kids which I tried to stop but she just chuckled at me and stuck her tongue out and said, "Oh hush you, I'm only doing what any guardian should do. Plus I have more money than I know what to do with and even more now that Da signed the Telford family over to me. I don't want to hear another word from you and don't even try the I don't take charity stuff with me, family helps family and that's final."

I was shocked, embarrassed and happy at her tirade but I like to think of myself as a smart man so I did as I was told I shut up but I couldn't stop the smile that spread even if I wanted to. It was good to feel cared about by someone outside of the Sons, even more so after Donna left. This woman waltzed into our lives flipped it upside down with the revelation of magic and is slowly working her way into our hearts. She has claimed my kids and I as family so the least I can do it protect her and her secret from Clay and anyone else that wants to harm her. I looked at Chibs and I could tell that he saw the resolve in my eyes because he met my gaze with the same ferocity to protect his daughter that I had, we nodded in a silent understanding while Sophia finished setting up my kids for a better future.
