Chapter Eighty-Seven: Restless Night, White Morning

As the eagle demon perished, Yunsi descended from the sky.

The figure on the roof moved slightly but then settled back down, watching as she fell into someone else's arms...

"What happened?" Yulanxing arrived belatedly, looking anxious.

"It's so noisy! Can't even get a decent sleep. I can't believe this is the Yu General's residence. The commotion is enough to wake up the Yu General." The person on the roof replied lazily. Jun Feng sat on the roof, resting his head against his hand, looking unconcerned as he glanced at Yulanxing.

Yulanxing sneered, "It's quite something for the musician to stay in my humble Yu Residence." His disdain was evident in his tone.

Jun Feng left early the next morning without a word of farewell or greeting. He simply left quietly.

Yebai, rubbing his little head, blinked and saw Jun Feng. Irritated, Jun Feng exclaimed, "What are you looking at? Want to call me father? Let me tell you, it's impossible. I can't raise such a big son like you."

Yebai rolled his eyes. "Who would be unlucky enough to have a dimwit like you as a father?"

"Tsk!" Jun Feng scoffed.

Yebai turned around, facing away from Jun Feng, and crossed his arms defiantly, gazing into the distance with clear eyes that were more like those of a semi-mature adult than a child's innocence. He spoke earnestly, "Sometimes I really can't understand you, or understand what you're doing."

Jun Feng looked at him seriously.

"You only just managed to enter the Yu Residence yesterday, and yet you're already leaving without a word today. I thought you were investigating the death of the Fifth Prince, but now you're leaving silently."

Jun Feng suddenly smiled, "Kid, what are you talking about?" He poured himself a cup of tea leisurely. "I must say, at your young age, don't indulge in wild thoughts. It's not good for your growth."

"Why? Why did you suddenly leave? Since you're leaving, why did you even bother coming? Or do you already know something?" Yebai jumped onto the table and snatched the teacup from Jun Feng's hand, his expression showing some anger.

"Not yet! I've only been there for one night. How could I find out so easily?" Jun Feng leisurely took back the teacup snatched by Yebai and sipped it casually.

His mind wandered off.

"Hey, hey, hey, I'm asking you seriously, why are you so distracted?" Yebai waved his hand in front of Jun Feng's eyes.

Yebai was too noisy, quickly pulling Jun Feng's thoughts back. Jun Feng pushed Yebai away with a disgusted expression, walking away on his own.

"Hey, your hand!" Not far away, Yebai shouted.

Hearing this, Jun Feng glanced at his left hand, where crimson blood trickled down his arm.

"It's nothing, just a small wound." His cold expression turned ugly. He casually took out a white handkerchief and wrapped it around his wrist in a simple knot, then tied it up, revealing a purple orchid at one corner of the handkerchief.

Yebai sat on the edge of the table, cradling his head alone, absentmindedly saying, "Hmm, even when you're this old, you still don't give people peace of mind. You managed to scare away such a big monster, but in the end, you got injured by a little monk."

Jun Feng's thoughts were unclear. It was hard to say what Jun Feng was thinking. Even though the little monk was injured, even if the emperor came, he would be powerless. It was Jun Feng who almost took half of his life to save her.

Even so, couldn't you at least wait for the girl to wake up before leaving? Otherwise, even if you risked your life to save her, who would know?

Ah, it's a pity that you've lived for thousands of years as an immortal, yet you don't understand such simple principles. I would say you've wasted your millennia!
