Jade Wind Mountain wasn't the tallest of the mountains near Silver Sword City but it was one of the most difficult to traverse. The energies surrounding the mountain produced fierce wind and hail storms through much of the fall and winter and even in the early summer, sudden thunderstorms weren't an unusual occurrence.
Natural trails formed by the passage of beasts were rare and fallen trees littered the rocky landscape, forcing Wu Ling and his companions to clamber over half-rotten trunks or take frequent detours. In other places, large swathes of land had been scorched and blackened by lightning strikes and wildfires. The barren areas were far too exposed to traverse without being seen by predators higher up the mountain so once again, the group detoured around them.
