Chapter 129 Eating Fish As the girl settled down, she noticed something had changed within her. Tilting her head, she mumbled, "Why don't I feel bad anymore?" Hearing the girl's confused voice, Aleshia looked up at her witch hat and mentally asked, "Lucia, was that you?" Lucia gave a slight nod. Concerned for the child, she added, "You should give the child some of the fish you stored so she doesn't starve. She looks so thin and fragile." "Right," Aleshia said. She then tried grabbing her bag but discovered she couldn't move her arms because the girl was still holding onto them. After gently disentangling herself, Aleshia went to retrieve the fish but noticed the girl looking up at her with hopeful eyes. "Can you do what you just did to me again, but for everyone else? I'll take you to our camp; I think the kids there need healing more than I do," she requested. With the hopeful gaze of a child staring at her, Aleshia couldn't refuse, but she wanted to find the adventurer again. However, this issue mattered more to her than tagging along with the adventurer while concealing herself. She gently patted the girl on the head and asked, "Are you hungry?" The girl's stomach answered with a growl. Aleshia reached for her bag again and successfully pulled out a few fish on sticks, handing one to the girl. The girl was about to dig in immediately but paused. "I can't have this; the others need it more than I do. I can find food for myself, so please give it to the children," she stammered. Aleshia felt sorry for the girl and pulled out more fish to show her before putting them back in the bag, trying to coax the girl into eating. "I have plenty of fish, so it's okay to eat," she said. After some more encouragement, the girl reluctantly accepted Aleshia's invitation and began to eat her fish. Once she finished the first one, she hesitantly asked for another. Aleshia handed her another fish, which the girl quickly devoured. As the girl ate, Aleshia looked around at the many rundown buildings that were far shabbier than those she had seen when she first entered the city.
Unconsciously, she muttered, "This really is a slum."
When the girl finished the fish in her hands, Aleshia asked for the girl's name. "Do you have a name? Mine is Aleshia, and my witch hat is named Lucia."
