"Yes, unfortunately, he will," Kael answered, thinking that Trigon had also lost hope of winning the mission. But Trigon's next words made their jaws drop in unison.

"Then what are we lazying for? Let's go to class!" Trigon's sudden enthusiasm and determination caught his friends off guard, leaving them staring at him in disbelief.

"Dude, you just woke up, I suggest you take a break and rest for a bit," Lexmus said, concern etched on his face.

"Nah, I'm good," Trigon replied, brushing off Lexmus' words. "The nurse used something strange on me that made me feel instantly rejuvenated." He added, a hint of curiosity in his tone.

At the mention of the nurse, Lexmus and Kael instantly turned towards him, their faces lighting up with excitement. "Speaking of the nurse, I heard she is damn beautiful," Kael said, his voice lowered to a whisper.

"Yeah, damn, at times I wish I could suffer some injuries just so I could spend more time with her," Lexmus chimed in, envy visible in his tone. "Heck, I've even left myself vulnerable to beasts just so she could heal me, but at the end of the day, it's always some fucking assistant who does it instead. Man, you're lucky to have been healed by her."

Kael leaned in closer, his voice taking on a conspiratorial tone. "Quick, tell us, how soft are her hands, how beautiful is she? And..." He paused, his eyes gleaming with curiosity. "Is it a D cup, C cup, or B?"

Lexmus waited with bated breath for Trigon's response, his eyes fixed on him with anticipation.

Trigon scratched his head, a look of confusion on his face. "I didn't really get a good look, to be honest." He replied, his tone neutral.

Lexmus and Kael looked at each other, their faces falling in disappointment. Trigon realized that his friends weren't only waiting for him out of concern for his well-being, but rather to avoid their teacher, DS, and get a glimpse of the beautiful nurse.

"Come on, guys, let's move! We don't want to be late for Teacher DS's class," Alfred called out, his voice urging them to hurry. Trigon, Lexmus, and Kael nodded in response, falling into step behind him as they exited the Neo-Eden Medical Center.

"Wait, Alfred, I thought you only attended runes and formations classes?" Trigon asked, curiosity getting the better of him.

Alfred turned to face him, his expression serious. "Yeah, I am supposed to be attending only those classes you mentioned, but it seems like the school has introduced a new development. All of us need to undergo this physical training, and from what I've gathered, it might last for more than 24 hours. Some students who have connections to the higher-ups even claim it might last for a week."

Kael spoke up, a hint of gratitude in his voice. "Thankfully, we're all prepared, thanks to Alfred. He told us to stock up on food, which was originally meant for you, Trigon, to help you recover. But since you're feeling better and want to join the mission, why don't we distribute the food among ourselves and use it during the training?"

Lexmus posed a practical question, "But does everyone have their weapons here?"

Alfred puffed out his chest, a proud look on his face. "I have a bunch of papers with runes drawn on them, my uniform is embedded with basic concealing, wind, and illusion runes, and I have a sonic boom boom gun with me."

The others looked at him with a mix of admiration and envy. Fighting a rune and formation student or master was notoriously difficult due to their unique skills, which included setting traps with runes and concealing their presence to avoid direct confrontation. It was a formidable ability that made many hesitant to cross paths with such students, as no one knew when they might draw a deadly rune out of thin air.

"I have my blade here, which I wouldn't even need," Kael said with a scoff, "my abilities alone will make me come out on top in this assessment, first among the first-year students."

Lexmus let out a derisive snort, "You? First? I don't think so! My abilities are unique, just like yours, and I don't even need weapons. My martial arts skills alone will earn me the top spot, not just among the first-year students but also the second year."

Kael sneered, "Hmph! Let's bet on it then!"

"Fine! I bet 100 points that I'll come out on top!" Lexmus exclaimed.

"I bet 100 points that I'll defeat you!" Kael shot back.

"Alfred and Trigon, both of you have witnessed our exchange, and therefore shall be our witnesses."

"Hmph! Don't try any tricks later, Kael!" Lexmus warned.

"Same to you! I'll win, and I'll also beat you in handsomeness!" Kael retorted, his confidence unwavering.

Trigon, who had been feeling down and withdrawn, couldn't help but smile faintly at the banter between his friends. It was a small comfort, but at least he had people around him who could lift his mood.

Just then, Alfred approached him, leaving the other two boys to continue their argument. With a surprising flourish, Alfred produced two rusty gauntlets with sharp, devilish spikes protruding from the knuckles out of thin air. "Your gauntlets," he said, handing them to Trigon. "I wanted to get you a better pair, but Lexmus told me you preferred these. He tried to persuade you to change them, but you refused. So, I just inscribed some basic runes on them, like a little boost and some to make them lighter for you."

Trigon's face lit up with gratitude as he accepted the gauntlets. "Thank you, Alfred."

Alfred waved his hand dismissively, his burly body towering over Trigon. "No need to thank me, we're both from poorer families, struggling to survive. We have to use every resource we can get our hands on to better our families' futures. That's why I barely sleep, always immersing myself in studying runes, although we might come from poor families but that doesn't mean we should feel less human."

As they continued their discussion, they finally arrived at a towering building that stretched high into the sky, its peak hidden in the clouds. The building had over 400 floors, a staggering height that left them awestruck. Following the directions on their AI watches, they entered the wide hall of the building, a space they had never seen before. After having their watches scanned, the nearest elevator slid open, and they stepped inside. The doors closed behind them, and the elevator shot upwards at an incredible speed, as if it were a shuttle blasting off into space. In what felt like an instant, they reached their final destination: the topmost floor.

As the elevator doors slid open, they were greeted by a sea of students filling the hall to capacity. The room was packed with over a thousand students, yet there was complete silence. A man was floating above the crowd, his voice echoing through the hall as he conveyed important information.
