Revelation pt2

It was the year 2026 - near the end of the war.

On 5rd of July, me and the guys in the 1st Special Force Group received orders to accompany the Minister of Defense to Beijing, China.

Our mission was shrouded in secrecy, the details revealed to us only in cryptic messages moments before departure. As we boarded the plane to Beijing, tension hung heavy in the air, each one of us running through possible scenarios in our minds. The Minister of Defense seemed unusually somber, his usually stoic demeanor now etched with a trace of anxiety. As we flew over the vast expanse of the Pacific Ocean, I couldn't shake the feeling that this mission would change everything. And little did I know just how right I was.

Our objective was to serve as protectors for the Minister of Defense during his trip to China. He was going there to discuss a deal with a renowned Chinese scientist named Han Zhen Yang, who specialized in studying pathogens and viruses. He proposed a deal: he would share his findings on a lethal parasite, in return for financial support and a means of leaving China.

We arrived at a military base in the outskirts of Beijing under the cover of night, the darkness enveloping us like a shroud of secrecy. The air was heavy with anticipation as we disembarked from the plane, greeted by high-ranking Chinese officials who escorted us to a heavily guarded facility.

We reached what appeared to be an observation room, with neat rows of chairs facing a massive glass window that offered a clear view of the experiments taking place below. The observation room was stark white, with sterile walls and sleek silver chairs lining up in perfect rows. The large glass window dominated one side, offering a view into the brightly lit research facility below. Scientists in lab coats bustled about, their movements precise and robotic.

Apart from Japan, representatives from various other nations were also in attendance, including the United States, Russia, France, and England. Their leaders and officials sat comfortably in their seats, wearing smug grins on their faces.

Their purpose was to observe the demonstration of the parasite's effectiveness as a bioweapon.

As the demonstration began, tension crackled in the air, a palpable electricity that seemed to hum with the weight of impending doom. Han Zhen Yang stood at the front of the room, his face obscured by the shadows cast by the harsh lights below.

Whispers rippled through the room as Han Zhen Yang confidently stepped forward, a small vial containing the deadly parasite cradled in his palm. His black hair was swept back in a sleek ponytail, sharp eyes gleaming with a mix of pride and malice. The rest of us exchanged uneasy glances, the gravity of the situation sinking in as we realized the true nature of this meeting. As Dr. Han began his presentation, his voice smooth and chilling, I couldn't help but feel a sense of foreboding creep over me. The parasite was unleashed into a controlled environment below us, where test subjects - condemned criminals from local prisons - were exposed to its effects. The once docile prisoners convulsed in agony as the parasite quickly took hold of their bodies, twisting them into grotesque shapes of suffering. The once civilized men were reduced to rabid beasts, their humanity stripped away in a frenzy of violence. They tore at each other with savage ferocity, devouring flesh and bone until there was no one left standing but a pile of mutilated corpses. The air was filled with the stench of blood and fear, a sickening reminder of what they had become.

I caught a glimpse of the Minister of Defense next to me; his lips were twisted into a sinister grin, and his eyes sparkled with excitement like a child in a toy store.

"Excellent work. This is truly outstanding," one official exclaimed, clearly delighted with the results.

"This is exactly what we were hoping for. It was worth every investment," another added, relieved and satisfied.

These men, they were no less repulsive than the monsters below. I felt the urge to puke. Frankly, if it weren't for my job, I would have stood up and given every one of those bastards a beating already. Dr. Han, pleased with himself, spoke to the audience behind the glass panel.

" Gentlemen… Gentlemen..." He spoke while clapping his hand to silence the excited audience. He then continued in a calm voice:" I see that you are very satisfied with what you have seen, but I can assure you… This is just the beginning, we will now show you the main dish."

The ground panel slid open to reveal a group of even more grotesque and mutated monsters, this time bound in chains. Dr. Han, still wearing that disgusting grin on his face, put both of his hands up in an exaggerated gesture. He spoke in a loud voice for all to hear.

" As you can see here, gentlemen. These monsters here are a completely different breed compared to what those dregs you have just witnessed. These monsters… are the cream of the crop! All of them completely mutated to fit their specific roles. One of them has evolved to have carbon fiber skin allowing them to resist conventional firearms. The other have evolved to become a undetectable assassin. But… showing is better than telling, so I won't bore you with anymore words instead, ready yourself for the next show!"

Dr. Han then retreated to the safety room instead, watching through a glass panel. With a robotic noise, all of the chains are unlocked, and the monsters are free to demonstrate their power. The sound of the chains hitting the ground echoed through the room, followed by the growls and snarls of the now freed monsters as they prepared to unleash their power.

The towering monstrosity, its massive arms resembling pillars of destruction, slammed a tank with such force that it was sent hurtling into a nearby wall. As the dust and debris settled, the assassin monster disappeared from sight, cloaked in invisibility. Suddenly, a bone-chilling screech echoed through the air, powerful enough to shatter glass and rupture eardrums. The sheer intensity of the sound sent chills down the spine of any who heard it.

As the monsters finished their demonstration, a wave of cheers erupted from the officials. One voice rose above the rest, shouting out "Yeah!" with all the unbridled enthusiasm of a child watching a superhero movie for the first time.

As the demonstration ended, guards in full exo suits flooded into the room and used flamethrower to drive the monsters back to their cages.

Dr. Han emerged from the safety room, a smug grin spreading across his face as he pushed up his glasses. He then spoke with confidence:

" This concludes the demonstration. When you get home tonight - or tomorrow, make sure to think long and hard. I assure you, if you chose me you'll get your money's worth. Think about it, a non-nuclear option to devastate an entire nation. Not only that but it's also inexpensive and easy to use. All you have to do… Is just unleash the parasite on any where you want to wipe off the map then sit back, relax, and enjoy! Just give it a long thought, no rush."

The demonstration concluded, and everyone left the observation room for the hallway. Naturally, I accompanied the Minister of Defense to the hallway, where he spoke to another representative. They continued to spew disgusting bile to each other

I was no longer concerned with their conversation; my thoughts were elsewhere. I couldn't stop thinking about what would happen if such a terrible weapon was unleashed in Japan, and how I could protect my family. That brings us to the present.
