Interlude 2 (Elementary, my dear)

....???? ???? ???? Eugene's pov.....

Well, I have to give credit to Shin, he certainly knew how to put on a show. He did a great job convincing the others to join our cause. At the very least, I thought so. They had all left, leaving only me and Shin to discuss or future plans.

We needed Rachel, she was the centerpiece of our plan, without her it would never work. She had the ability to traverse dimensions, which was extremely rare among inheritors, if she died during a scenario or request, our current plan would be completely derailed.

Sara was another intellectual, and one group could never have too many of those. Something about her is....Off to say the least, I don't exactly know what it is, but Shin stated it should be fine and he is very skilled at reading others. He has proven it time and time again.

V on the other hand was an interesting at best, weird at the worst, case. He seemed to care about others due to his actions at the start of this scenario, but I wasn't exactly sure that was the case. After distracting Gojo, he made no effort to look for any of the people he had saved, as if he had a plan that didn't involve anyone other than himself and his familiar. He was a mystery, something I would take joy in solving. I don't exactly know why Shin invited him, perhaps his competency when it came to executing the plan convinced Shin he could be of help to the cause, but I didn't know the exact reason, I'll ask him soon.

"Well, Eugene, we can finally began our plan." Shin spoke out through the fog tiredly.

Shin had spent a long time preparing this plan, ever since we were kids he had always seemed obsessed with freeing the world from the tower, not that I could blame him. You would think a common enemy would unite humanity, and for a while it did. But soon strength was all that mattered to anyone, causing discrimination, poverty, and a caste system to be formed, where your worth was decided from birth.

Shin and I were treated well by the system due to our high character ranks, but even we could see that the current system was wrong. Every person should be trained to combat the tower, for the progress of humanity, instead knowledge and technology was gatekept by the strong in order to stay strong.

That wasn't the right way to progress when our situation was so dire. There are only around 3 billion humans left on earth, and only around 10 million of those humans are active inheritors, and while the higher ranks can carry the lower ranks slack, the more inheritors there are the better. Which is why entering the tower should be encouraged not discouraged, the more information we have about scenarios, the better.

However, the nobles don't think this way, so the only feasible solution is finding a way out of the tower's control.

Rather than dealing with the nobles influence and power, it would be better to rip the root of the problem right out from under them.

Which is why we are doing this, for humanity's freedom.

"Yeah, it will be quite interesting."
