Ceres

Writer's POV:

After every combat and an Heir of the werewolf clan is chosen, a rose springs forth in a garden and blooms when the time to ascend the throne arises, the reaper of the Thorn rose, according to historical records was not originally meant to be an Heir, he was a dormant werewolf who couldn't wolf out, so he was bullied and maltreated by his siblings, in rage he sort out a way to harness his powers, but he fell short in his research and went for the next option. Blood magic, the darkest of all magic. His soul was too weak to harbor powers so it remained dormant and unresponsive, in order to strengthen his soul a demon latched onto him. He went against the orders of the heavens, he cheated death and made an army immune to Silver, he killed the chosen Heir and mounted the throne as King of the werewolf clan and Alpha of His newly created Silverpack.

He brought the mantle of power in the hands of the werewolves and made them rulers of Europe and the great church of England. Although all roses die once the reaper dies the Thorn Rose remains standing, according to The Blank Book he may return.

It's been two weeks since Herdis last saw Razar, he has yet to return since the incident and she hasn't met his relatives as well.

She spends her time reading books, playing board games, drinking tea in the garden and staring at the stars at night. But what burdens her more is that she is yet to hear from Ceres.

Ceres is a healer at the Wizard Cavern, He was Herdis's mentor when she was sixteen. And she has loved him ever since. She chased him around like a bee but he never budged, he always drew a line between them, at first he claimed that she was too young and when she grew older he claimed that she was out of his league. But on the day the news of her Wedding to Razar came about, he held her hands and professed his love to her. He advised that she marry the Prince and he would rescue her on her way to the Castle but he didn't show up.

At the thought of Ceres she couldn't help but get scared that Father had someone spy on him.

She started to reminisce about the day she professed her love to him, at the age of 16.

"I love you, Ceres." Herdis young voice cried out.

Ceres looked up at her then asked. "What is love, Herdis?"

"I don't know." She replied.

"Then how are you so sure you love me?"

"I can feel it in my bones."

He lets out a hearty laughter then stares at her deeply. "You are too young for this Herdis, you should focus on harnessing your Manta."

"I am not a Child, Ceres. I am sixteen but would you have loved me if I was older? Herdis inquired.

"Was that the only thing you picked up from what I just said?"

"Yes."

"You know what, just go fetch me some Lakmal seeds from my Coven."

"Okay." Herdis said, skipping to his Coven happily

AFTER HER COMING-OF-AGE CEREMONY:

Herdis ran all the way to Ceres's Coven, she knocked on his door in anticipation.

When he opened his doors he only had a bathrobe on. She could see his firm chest and chiseled albs, it seemed like he had just gotten out of the shower.

"It's late, Herdis. What brings you here?" He asked coldly.

"Can you let me in first?"

"No I can't, it's too late to be seen in a man's room. Just state your business."

"You didn't attend my coming-of-age ceremony, I really wanted to see you. It's been long."

"Exactly, I am no longer your mentor and I have no reason to attend the ceremony, it will only arouse questions."

"But you once were, and we are friends anyways, so it's okay if you attend."

"We aren't friends, Herdis, you were once my student while I was your mentor, but now you are my Princess while I am your servant."

"This isn't fair."

"This has to stop, we are in two different worlds. Good night, Herdis."

She never gave up after that. She chased and bugged him, even though he was so unresponsive. She almost gave up at some point, but the news of this wedding brought him to her.

'I have faith in him, I know he loves me, he will surely come to rescue me.' She reassured herself.

IN CERES ROOM:

A young lady is laying on his chest with her hands wounded on his waist, while they lay together on his bed.

"Do you think she will survive?" Ceres voiced out.

"Why do you care?" The young lady questioned.

"I just…"

"Do you like her?" She cuts in.

"No I don't, I just feel guilty. She must be waiting for me."

"If she truly was, she would have tried sending letters to you. She is fine, you don't have to be so agitated."

"Umm."

"So, I wanted to tell my mother about us."

"Would she approve of us?"

"I am her favorite daughter of course she will."

"Do you have the slight interest in becoming the Next Queen of the Witchers Clan."

"No I don't, I am just playing safe, getting on everyone's good side. I don't want to be neglected when someone else is chosen."

"Would you feel sad if you found out that someone you tried so hard to please doesn't love you?"

"Maybe, I don't know. Is this about Herdis? Because if it is then you are really hell-bent on getting me upset." She says, then sits up straight with her back resting on the headstand.

"It's just, you are her twin sister, Keyleth. She would be sad if she found out about us."

"Don't you dare use that on me, I may be her twin sister but you are her favorite person so you should feel guilty as well."

"I do feel guilty, that's why I want us to stop this."

"You must be joking, not after everything, besides you convinced her to go ahead with the marriage on mother's behalf, just to be promoted. What do you think would happen if I told her about the deal you made with my mom, it's either that or you stay with me."

"Do you really have no ounce of sympathy in you? I will save Herdis."

"From what, try it and I will make sure Mother puts an end to you."
