She might be expecting

Writer's POV:

When Herdis opened her eyes again she saw herself in her room. She was surrounded by Razar, King Negah, Queen Trinah, Keyleth, Penelope, Ohasis, Evergreen and two Councilmen.

She sat up and rested her back on the headstand. She had no idea how to react at the moment, she didn't know if she could scream due to the shock from earlier or ask how she got here. But she was certain of one thing that she wanted to do right now and was to ask for some privacy, but she couldn't bring herself to speak.

She felt like she had lost her voice, she just stared at everyone totally dumbfounded and flabbergasted.

Herdis turned to look at Razar who was seated beside her hoping he would understand her dilemma and surprisingly he did.

"I request some privacy with my wife."

"I am sorry Razar, but we need to speak to your wife. It's important that we know what she saw during her slumber, for all we know Creekside was probably trying to communicate with her through trance." Queen Trinah suggests.

"For all I know, she might be expecting my child, please let me attend to my wife."

'What rubbish, does he fail to think before acting or are his brains as dumb as the words that come out from his mouth.' Herdis thought inwardly.

"Let us send for a doctor then. Am I right, mother?" Evergreen suggested.

"That's a great idea, why don't we send for a doctor to attend to Herdisan." Queen Trinah says.

"I appreciate your kind gestures but I want some privacy with my wife, and I truly hope that outsiders don't interfere."

Anger was clearly imprinted on their faces.

'Why in heaven's name does Father and Queen Trinah keep ignoring Razar's antiques?' Herdis asked herself.

"I can't communicate with any spirit so why would the Creekside Spirit decide to commune with me? I just need some rest. I think I fainted due to exhaustion, the journey here was a bit too stressful for my weak body."

"Listen Herdisan,.."

Queen Trinah was cut short by Keyleth,

"Actually mother I think it's best she rests only then might she recollect anything she was shown, you don't have to be worried I will stay and I will keep my eyes in here, I will relay any information to you first."

"Please listen to Keyleth, Queen Trinah. I promise to relay all information to Keyleth if I recollect anything at all." I reassured her.

With all that being said, Queen Trinah lets out a huge sigh then walks out of the room, and every other person follows her out one after the other. Immediately everyone left the room, Keyleth ran to Herdis's side.

"Is it true Herdis? Are you expecting cause if you are it means I will soon be an aunt."

Before Herdis could reply to Keyleth's questions, Razar rushes in.

"When I requested for privacy with my wife, I meant that every single soul should leave my room."

"But I reassured Mother already, I promised her that I would stay beside Herdis till she recollects anything." Keyleth retorted.

It seemed Keyleth's retorts fueled Razar's anger the most.

"I don't give a damn who you made your promises to, all I care about is that you get the hell out of this damn room."

'Heavens, did he just curse three times in one sentence.' Herdis thought inwardly

"Listen Razar, you can just let her stay, sending her away might complicate thin,..."

Keyleth cuts in. "No, no, no, you should never go against your husband's wishes, Herdis. It's fine if he wants me to leave then I will gladly take my leave, I don't want to be the reason you both fight."

'I didn't even know what to say anymore, how did things turn around from me defending her to me being disrespectful.'

Herdis had no idea when Keyleth left she just sat there in confusion until Razar broke the silence.

"You should rest, it's quite late."

"What time is it?"

"It's pretty late, you should sleep."

"All I have been doing for the past few days is sleeping and resting. I think I can manage a few hours without sleep."

"Is that why you sneaked out last night? I knew I should have stopped you but I thought you wanted to meet up with your sister."

"You weren't asleep, I thought you were."

"I wasn't asleep, I barely sleep Herdis, I was surprised when you actually thought that I was asleep, and even if I was how dumb do you think my senses are, I can sense your uncultured sleeping postures in my sleep, do you really think that I wouldn't know if you stepped out?"

"Ohh, were you the one that brought me into the room?"

"What do you think?"

"Ummmm…"

"Stop straining your little brain and go to sleep."

After saying something so insulting he stood up and blew out all the cables, laid down on the bed and shut his eyes tightly. Herdis would have retorted back normally but she didn't since Razar seemed quite tired.

'He must not have had a wink of sleep because of me. He might claim that he doesn't need to sleep all the time but I feel he needs to sleep once in a while.'

Herdis just sat there thinking about everything she was shown by Creekside. She kept pondering if she had made the right choice to keep it to herself.

"Why didn't you ask me anything, or do you believe that Creekside had nothing to show me."

"I don't think I have told you anything about myself before so I won't force you to tell me anything about yourself."

"Can we return to Canterbury the day after tomorrow? I would like to meet the Priestess."

"Sure."

"Thank you."

"For what."

"For supporting me, for bringing me to the room and also, for saving me from the questions earlier, although you didn't do it in the best way it means a lot that you helped."

"If you knew the best way, then why did you look to me for help, you should have saved yourself Damsel."
