Portal

Kieran's body fell on the cold floor of the throne room with an audible thud.

'So.....f.... finally....death,' Kieran thought as he felt his consciousness slowly slipping away.

At least, if his mother had been alive, he wouldn't have felt so much pain right now, but the fact that his mother was also lying dead on the floor made the experience more heart wrenching.

'If only I could get my revenge....if only I could pay them back tenfold for the pain they caused me....' Kieran thought.

At this point, he was already wondering why he was still able to think.

'Is the process so long....? I thought death was meant to happen fast.....' Kieran thought.

Though, he could still feel his consciousness fading bit by bit, and he knew that it wouldn't be long... he would soon cease to exist.

Finally, Kieran felt his last bit of consciousness disappear, and....that was the end.

Dark....Empty.....Silent.....

Yes, that was where Kieran found himself after his last bit of consciousness disappeared.

'Huh? What is this? What is happening?' Kieran thought.

He felt that he was floating in a dark empty space, but he couldn't make out any other thing.

The craziest thing about all these was the fact that he couldn't see anything, yet he could feel that he was in a dark empty space.

He couldn't even feel his legs, hands, in fact, his whole body, but he knew that he was conscious, and he didn't know how that was possible, after all, he remembered that his father just killed him moments ago, so he wasn't suppose to be conscious.

'What is this place?'

Another mystery was this dark space that he was currently in.

'Or is this where people go once they die?' Kieran couldn't help but think.

That was the only plausible theory he could come up with at the moment.

His mind drifted to his mother as he remembered all that happened in the throne room.

'Ugh.... mother....'

The unbearable pain that he had before, came back again, and for a moment, he wasn't even bothered about this dark space again.

The only thing on his mind was... Revenge, but that wasn't possible, because he was dead.

Suddenly, Kieran felt a bright flash of light. He couldn't feel his eyes which meant that he couldn't see the light, but he could certainly feel it through a means that he didn't even know.

In a matter of seconds, Kieran could feel that a blue portal was close to him, and he knew that the light was coming from that portal.

'A portal? Where does it lead to?' Kieran thought.

Well, he would soon find out, because the portal was moving close to his direction.

He couldn't feel his body, because right now, he was just a fireball.

Yes, Kieran was currently a blazing fireball, and that was why he couldn't feel his body, but he didn't know that.

The blue portal moved closer to the Kieran, and in a matter of seconds, the blue portal was already in front of him.

Kieran instantly felt it, and he tried to move backwards, after all, he didn't know where this portal would take him to, but how could he do that when he was just a fireball?

He couldn't even feel his body, talk less of moving.

'Shit....how do I get this thing to stay away from me?'

After much attempts, Kieran couldn't still move, and that caused him to panic, but then, he suddenly had a thought.

'I'm trying to leave this dark space, and I'm still trying to avoid this blue portal, but what if I have to enter this portal to leave this dark space?' Kieran thought.

It was just a thought, but it could actually be the only way to leave this dark space.

Though, Kieran couldn't deny the fact that he was cautious about the portal, but in this situation, he had no other choice.

'If I want to leave this dark space, I have to take this risk,' Kieran thought.

Though, there was no risk to take here, because the portal would've still swallowed Kieran even though he didn't want to enter, after all, he couldn't move.

Kieran steeled his resolve, and braced himself for whatever was about to happen.

He was truly hoping that this portal would lead him out of this place, but he was also curious about where he would end up.

Finally, the portal reached him, and then.....

*WHOOSH*

*********

"Agh.....my head," A boy groaned in pain as he opened his eyes groggily.

After some seconds, he opened his eyes fully, taking in his surrounding.

"What happened there?" He muttered as he realized that he was lying on the floor.

Instantly, he got up, but in the process, he felt a sharp pain in his waist.

"Ugh....." He groaned as he held his waist.

The last thing he remembered was a blue portal moving towards him, and he also remembered bracing himself for whatever was going to happen.

"Is this the other side of the portal?" Kieran muttered as the pain he was feeling in his waist reduced.

Looking around, he noticed that he was in an alley, and nobody else was in the alley, but when he looked forward, he saw people passing by, and the sun was up high in the sky, signifying that it was currently day time.

But he also didn't fail to notice something else.

"Why does everywhere look familiar?" He muttered.

This alley, the street he was seeing ahead, and most importantly, the tall palace he was seeing in the distance, every single one of them looked familiar.

But first, Kieran decided to look at his body first, because he could still feel slight pains all over, and he even felt that he had bruises on his body.

But before he could do that, something suddenly appeared in front of him.

The thing was transparent, so it wasn't blocking his vision.

It was a screen.....a transparent screen.

"Huh? What is this?" Kieran muttered, with a frown on his face.

But then, words suddenly appeared on the screen, making him confused.
