Revenge System

[The Revenge System has found you]

[Assimilating...]

[The Revenge System has completely assimilated with the Host ]

[Welcome, Host]

"What the hell is going on?!"

Kieran cleaned his eyes, and looked at the screen again to make sure that he wasn't just seeing things.

But after doing that, he found out that he was still seeing the transparent screen which meant that it wasn't just an hallucination.

Slowly, Kieran stretched out his right hand, and tried to touch the screen, but his hand fazed through it.

"Now, what could this be?" He muttered, with confusion evident on his face.

But as he was wondering where the screen came from, another set of words appeared on the screen.

[Welcome, Host. This is the Revenge System]

"Revenge System?" Kieran whispered.

Just to confirm, Kieran pinched himself, and he felt pain.

"Hmm, I'm not dreaming, this is real," he muttered.

It seemed he could communicate with this "Revenge System", so he decided to find out more about it.

"Revenge System, huh? What are you?" Kieran asked.

If anyone was seeing him right now, it would certainly look weird, because he was alone in the alley, yet it looked like he was talking to someone.

[I'm here to aid the host on his quest for Revenge]

Kieran couldn't help but remember that he wished to get revenge on every single person who hurt him and his mother.

"Or did that wish actually do something?' He muttered.

Putting that at the back of his mind, he continued questioning this strange Revenge System.

Yes, he wanted revenge, but he didn't remember telling anyone about it, and that led to his next question.

"And who told you that I want to go on a quest for Revenge?" Kieran asked.

[You wanted that yourself, so the Revenge System just found you]

Kieran understood what this Revenge System was talking about, but he still wasn't satisfied with this answer.

[Also, you can talk to me telepathically, you don't need to talk out]

Immediately Kieran saw these words, he realized that he had been talking out this whole time.

With this new knowledge, he asked his question telepathically.

"How did you find me?" Kieran asked.

Since he wasn't dreaming, he knew that this system was real, but he couldn't just trust it like that when he didn't even know its purpose.

[Master told me to come to you]

"Huh?" Kieran muttered.

"Who is your master?" He asked, curiously.

[I'm sorry, Host, but I can't tell you that. She specifically mentioned that I shouldn't disclose any information about her]

"Then how am I suppose to trust you? You're here telling me that you're the Revenge System, and you don't want to tell me anything about yourself?" Kieran questioned.

[My Master created me with the purpose of aiding you, even before you died. So, she knew that all these would happen]

[Just know that she has your best interest at heart, that was why she created me in the first place]

"Then why is she hiding her information? I can't possibly trust you," Kieran said.

"And what do you even know about me? Nothing," he added.

Kieran couldn't deny the fact that he certainly wanted revenge, but he couldn't trust this system when he didn't even know who created it, or it's real purpose.

Though, he was still curious about how he was still alive, and that blue portal he saw in that dark space.

[Host, I definitely understand that you can't trust me, but Master wouldn't have reincarnated you if she wanted to do anything bad to you]

Immediately Kieran saw this, he realized that this Revenge System knew something about how he was still alive.

'Who is this "master" its talking about?' Kieran thought.

If the system's master was able to reincarnate him, then that person was certainly someone out of this world.

Though, Kieran was still hesitant, moreover, he had alot of things to check out.

His body, his surrounding, and yes, this disastrous headache that had been disturbing him ever since he woke up.

Most importantly, he had to check.....his Mana Core.

If he even wanted to get his revenge, he would have to make sure that he had a Mana Core, because that would mean that he would be able to use Magic.

Well, before he died, he knew that he was the only person that didn't have a Mana Core, though, there was a possibility that there were other people without Mana Cores, but they didn't just come out to say it.

Having a Mana Core would mean that he would have an affinity with one Element, and he would finally be able to grow stronger.

But first, he had to settle things with this System.

"Since you don't want to tell me anything about your master, then tell me, how can you aid me?" Kieran asked.

That was one of the things he wanted to know, moreover, the System was sent to aid him, so how would that take place?

[I will help you grow stronger with Skills, Ability Energy, Weapons, and other things]

Discarding every other thing that the System just mentioned, Kieran focused on only one thing.

"Ability Energy?" Kieran muttered.

That was strange to him, and he had never heard anything like that before.

The only Energy that was used in this world was Mana. It was the Energy required to use Magic.

[Yes, Ability Energy, it's an Energy that people in this world don't know about]

That just confirmed Kieran's suspicion that it was something no one knew about, if not, he would have certainly heard about it.

"So this system is really something out of this world," Kieran muttered.

"So, you'll help me grow stronger, huh?"

[Yes, as far as you do things related to the ultimate goal.... Revenge]

Seeing that word, Kieran's eyes changed for second, and a cold glint flashed in his eyes, but they immediately went back to normal.

It happened so quick that if anyone was standing in front of him, they would not even notice it.

"I see....." Kieran muttered.

"But first, I have to check my Mana Core, and sort out my thoughts," he added as a sigh escaped his lips.

[Yes, I can help you do that]

Kieran was thinking of accepting the System's help, because....he didn't know how to check his Mana Core.

He didn't have a Mana Core before he died, so there was no need learning how to check, but now, he had to do that.

"Okay, tell me," Kieran said.

He was actually nervous, because if this body didn't have a Mana Core, then there was nothing he could do... he would become pathetic again.

".... let's see how it goes...."
