Coins

The man stared at the ring with widened eyes, but few seconds later, his shocked expression was instantly replaced with a blank look.

Of course, Kieran didn't fail to notice this, but he just continued observing the man.

'That expression before..... This ring is certainly worth alot.... at least, a considerable amount ,' Kieran thought as he gazed at the man.

"Hmmm, I'll buy it," the man said, after scrutinizing the ring with his eyes.

"But I'll like to have a close look at it," he added.

Kieran knew that the man would say this, though, he wasn't wrong, after all, he wouldn't just buy something without having a closer look at it.

Moreover, that was how business was done, and this was the man's store, so he had every right to have a closer look at what he was purchasing.

Though, that didn't mean that Kieran just gave him without watching him, infact, even after the man held the ring, Kieran still didn't let go, and he made sure to keep his hand on the ring.

The man noticed this, and stared at Kieran, but he didn't say anything, he just decided to focus on the ring for now.

"Now you've gotten a closer look at it, right?" Kieran asked.

The man squinted his eyes as he nodded his head.

"I'll buy it," he said.

Though, the man had a blank look on his face, he was actually dying from the amount of joy he was feeling right now.

Not only was a ring with high quality brought to him, but it was also brought by a commoner who wouldn't care about the price.

Yes, the ring wasn't actually the "best" grade, and he had seen rings like this before, but the fact that he could buy this for a lower amount brought joy to him.

The boy in front of him would obviously accept any amount he said he would buy the ring for.

"Okay, like I said, I'll buy the ring," the man said.

Kieran instantly brought the ring closer to himself, as he stared at the store owner, waiting for him to call a price.

He knew that the store owner wouldn't try to steal the ring from him, but he still didn't want to take any chances, after all, anything could happen unexpectedly.

'He's quite sharp....' The man thought as he noticed the way Kieran brought the ring closer to himself.

"I'll buy it for....80 Silver Coins," the man said, with a generous smile on his face.

A frown instantly appeared on Kieran's face as he gazed at the man.

"What do you mean?"

"I said I'll buy it for 80 Silver Coins, isn't that a proper amount for this ring?" The man asked.

"I see...." Kieran muttered, and then....

"Huh? Stop, where are you going to?" The man asked as he stared at Kieran who was already walking away.

Kieran halted, and turned to look at the store owner, before speaking.

"You really think I'll sell it for that amount?" Kieran questioned with a sharp look in his eyes.

"Wait... What about 90 Silver Coins? That's a better price," the man said.

Kieran sighed, and shaked his head, before he continued walking.

"Huh?! Still not good?! Wait!!" The man called out.

Kieran wasn't dumb to sell the ring for "Silver Coins." Yes, the ring wasn't the most expensive one Ryker wore, but it was still worth alot.

He was a prince before, so he had some knowledge about stuff like this, this ring was worth.....

"Okay, okay, what amount do you want to sell it for?" The man asked.

"Now you're talking...." Kieran muttered, as a slight smile appeared on his face.

He turned back, and walked towards the man, stopping in front of his store.

"I'll give you for 10 Gold Coins," Kieran said.

"Huh?!" The man exclaimed.

"What do you mean by that?" He asked, with a frown on his face.

In this world, there were bronze coins, silver coins, and gold coins.

100 bronze coins were equal to 1 silver coin, and 100 silver coins were equal to 1 gold coin.

A gold coin was enough for a family of four to survive for almost a year, without eating too much, and without much expenses.

And yet, Kieran was asking for 10 gold coins, well, that was because the ring was actually worth 10 gold coins.

"Oh, you don't wanna buy it?" Kieran asked as he raised a brow.

He was actually loosing patience, because the hunger was becoming more unbearable, and he wasn't comfortable at all.

But he had to make this man buy the ring, because it would be a hassle to look for another jewelry store in the condition he was now.

And the other jewelry store owners would also be like this man.... tricky.

'How does he even know the worth of this ring?' The man couldn't help but think.

It seemed he wouldn't be able to cheat the boy in front of him, after all, the sharpness in his eyes showed that he wasn't dumb.

"I can only buy it for 2 gold coins," the man said, trying once more.

Kieran didn't say anything, but it was clear that he disagreed.

The man sighed, and massaged his temples. At this point, he had no other choice, he had to buy it.

"Okay, I'll buy it," the man said as he walked into his store to get the gold coins.

Kieran stared at the rings, necklaces, and other jewelry that were sampled by the store owner.

Instantly, his mind drifted towards the Ability Energy that the system displayed for him before.

"It's that Energy I used to activate the Lightning Spear Skill, but I don't even know what it is," Kieran muttered.

[Like I mentioned earlier, I'll explain everything]

"Hmm, I just have to take care of myself first," Kieran muttered as he stared at the man who was already standing in front of him.

"Here you go," the man said as he threw a pouch towards Kieran.

Kieran instantly caught the pouch, and opened it, revealing the 10 shiny gold coins that were inside.

After confirming that it was 10 gold coins, Kieran handed the ring over to the man.

Without saying anything, he walked away....

"System, you have some explanations to do..." Kieran muttered.
