Inn

Kieran knew his next location, so he continued walking forward.

He held the pouch that accommodated the 10 gold coins as he looked around.

"I have to look for a decent inn... They'll also have great food," Kieran muttered.

His stomach rumbled again, making him hasten his steps. He didn't bother to look around to see if people were looking at him or not, but he could certainly feel eyes on him, after all, the sound his stomach made was loud.

Driven by determination, Kieran further hastened his steps, this time, he was looking left and right, searching for an inn.

"Shit... I've never been outside much, so I don't really know some places here," Kieran muttered.

Even though he was a noble, a prince for that matter, he didn't really go out much, unlike the other nobles. Well, he couldn't be blamed, he wasn't given the opportunity to do so.

As Kieran kept walking, he looked ahead, and noticed a particular signpost among all the others.

"Bedrock Inn..." Kieran muttered, noticing that it was an inn's signpost.

"Ahh, finally."

Instantly, Kieran walked towards the inn. He was still a few distance away from it, but since he could see it, he wasn't discouraged, he was able to endure for some time.

After some seconds, he reached the inn, and stood at the entrance.

It was a two storey building made with strong wood, and it was clear that it was durable.

Even from outside, Kieran could hear different voices, some were laughing while some were just discussing among themselves, and some were.... quarrelling.

But Kieran wasn't concerned about that, because his eyes suddenly became teary.....

"Ahh....f.... finally," Kieran muttered as the sweet scent of stew found it's way towards his nose.

Never would Kieran have thought that the scent of food would make him cry.... That was the power of food.

Hunger was indeed, a great enemy.

Kieran hastily walked into the inn, and looked around.

"As usual, adventurers usually gather here," Kieran muttered as he stared at the multitude of people that were in the inn.

This was just the ground floor of the inn, so it was basically a tavern where adventurers, and even those who weren't adventurers could eat and drink.

The rooms were located at the second floor of the inn, and even most of the adventurers preferred to stay at the inn.

Well, those who were married still had to go home to their wives and kids, and perhaps those who preferred to stay with their parents.

Even as Kieran was standing very close to the door, the people inside didn't even notice him, because they were busy with their own discussions.

As Kieran was about to move forward, a girl suddenly rushed towards him as if someone was chasing her.

She had short black hair, and brown eyes. She was wearing a knee-length brown gown, and a wide smile was on her face.

Her brown eyes were fixated on Kieran as she rushed towards him, and her posture made it look as if she was about to pounce on him.

Before she could even reach Kieran, he grabbed her shoulders, stopping her advance.

"Welcome, customer," she said, with a wide smile still present on her face.

She was definitely beautiful, and her voice was sharp, paired together with the positive energy she was exuding.

"Thank you, I need a room, and food also," Kieran said, going straight to the point.

"Hehe, you've come to the right place, come with me," the girl said as she started walking inside.

Kieran followed her, but he was having a thought.

'She can't possibly be the owner of this inn... she's probably the owner's daughter,' Kieran thought as he stared at the girl.

Suddenly, his stomach released another sound, bringing him back from his thoughts.

Some of the people in the inn stared at him as he passed, but they looked away after some seconds, continuing their discussion.

Kieran noticed that they were heading towards the stairs that led to the second floor.

"She wants to show me the room....tch.....I can't do that now, I'll have to eat first," Kieran muttered.

He was about to grab her attention, and tell her, but then, someone suddenly descended the stairs, making the girl to stop.

"Mother, we have a new customer, you see? I told you I would be able to attract customers," the girl said, with a smug smile on her face.

A lady with short black hair, and brown eyes descended the stairs, and started walking towards Kieran.

Kieran didn't need anyone to tell him that this lady was the girl's mother, after all, the resemblance was clear.

She seemed to be in her early forties, and a warm smile was on her face as she walked towards Kieran.

"Welcome, you want a room, right?" The lady asked.

Meanwhile, the girl had a frown on her face, due to the fact that her mother clearly ignored her.

"Yes, but I want to eat first," Kieran said.

"Oh okay, we have bread, ste~"

"Bring me something satisfying, as long as it isn't too expensive," Kieran said.

He didn't mean to cut her off, but he was too hungry to listen to the list of foods they had.

"I see, don't worry, just take a sit, and I'll bring something for you in a few seconds," the lady said, clearly understanding why Kieran cut her off.

Kieran nodded his head, and walked towards a chair at the end.

He walked past most of the adventurers, but he didn't even spare them a glance.

After sitting down, Kieran rested his hands on the table, trying to endure a bit, and he didn't have to do that for long, because.....

"Finally....." Kieran sighed as he stared at the girl who was approaching him with a tray.

His long awaited meal had arrived.

Now, he just had to eat, then he would be able to focus on himself....and find out what the hell was really going on.
