Eating & Room

Kieran stared at the girl, as she brought the tray closer to him.

In a matter of seconds, she had already reached him, and dropped the tray on the table.

"Enjoy your meal," she said, with a soft smile on her face.

Kieran nodded his head, and she walked back to join her mother.

Instantly, the sweet scent of the food assaulted Kieran's nose, and he hurriedly turned his head to look at the food.

Right in front of him, a bowl filled with stew was present, there were chunks of meat and vegetable in the stew, and with one look, and the scent, Kieran could tell that it was awesome.

There was a warm, freshly baked bread at the side of the stew, and its scent wasn't less appealing than the stew.

Instantly, without wasting a single second, Kieran attacked the food.

Like a beast, he began eating without a single care in the world.

That was just how hungry he was.

'Ahh, how long has it been since the former owner of this body ate?' Kieran couldn't help but wonder.

Like that, he continued eating till there was nothing left on the table, well... except the tray.

"Ahh." Kieran sighed, as a small smile appeared on his face.

The daunting hunger was no more, and he could finally breathe well.

He had other things to do now, so he couldn't afford to waste time.

Instantly, he looked at the inn owner's daughter who was standing near the door, and their eyes met.

Seeing that Kieran had finished eating, she dashed towards him, and picked up the tray.

"Hope you enjoyed the food," the girl said, with a smile plastered on her face.

"Yes," Kieran replied shortly as he stood up, and followed the girl.

They had to show him his room, but most importantly, he had to pay.

He walked towards the counter, where the owner of the inn was standing.

Immediately she noticed him, she stopped what she was doing, and smiled.

"Okay, you want a room, right?" She asked.

"Yes, how much for a night?" Kieran asked.

"That'll be 3 bronze coins, and the food you just ate is 5 bronze coins, so added together, that's 8 bronze coins," the lady said.

"I see... not what I expected," Kieran muttered.

He actually thought that a room for a night would be about 10 bronze coins, but it turned out to be only 3 bronze coins.

'I guess it still depends on the inn.'

Putting that aside, Kieran looked at his pouch, and the 10 gold coins inside.

He brought out a single gold coin, and stretched out his hand, giving it to the lady.

'I would've asked that jewelry guy to change 1 gold coin,' Kieran thought, as he realized that he only had gold coins with him.

The lady's eyes shone for a second as soon as she saw the gold coin.

Not because she hadn't seen a gold coin before, but it was because of the person she saw the gold coin with.

It was certainly surprising to see a boy who wasn't a noble with a gold coin, but she decided not to ask any question.

Everybody had their own means of earning a living, so it was none of her business.

"You can change it, right?" Kieran asked.

"Of course," the lady replied, as she collected the gold coin from Kieran.

After collecting the gold coin, she bent down, and brought out a pouch from her locker.

The pouch contained bronze coins, and silver coins.

After some counting, she brought out 99 silver coin, and 92 bronze coins.

Kieran had done his own calculations when the lady was counting the coins, though, the headache didn't allow him to do much, but he was still able to calculate.

"Accurate," Kieran muttered as he saw the amount of coins that the lady brought out.

She put the coins inside an empty pouch, and handed it over to Kieran.

Kieran saw her when she was counting, so there was no need to count again.

"My daughter will show you to your room," the lady said, with a smile on her face.

Kieran nodded his head, and just a second later, the girl was already in front of him.

"Let's go," she said, and Kieran follow her.

They climbed the wooded stairs, and continued walking.

After passing some rooms, the girl finally stopped in front of a door.

"This is your room," she said.

"The necessary things you need are inside, stay well," she added, before walking away, leaving Kieran.

Kieran instantly opened the door, revealing the room. It wasn't too big, but it also wasn't too small, it was just..... Okay.

After entering the room, he locked the door, and walked towards the bed.

The bed was comfy, and if not for the fact that Kieran was ready to know some things, he would've jumped on the bed by now.

"System, I'm ready," Kieran said, as he sat down on the bed.

He had to take a bath, and even change his clothes, but he wanted to get everything clear first, there was no need to delay anything.

[Host, you can check your rewards first]

"That's true, I got a Rank 2 Dagger if I'm not mistaken," Kieran muttered.

"Show me my rewards."

The system screen materialized in front of Kieran again, but this time, it wasn't the usual blank screen where words were just displayed.

This time, the screen displayed two boxes that were glowing.

Kieran raised a brow as he stared at the boxes. Without saying anything, he tapped the first box, and as expected, his hand passed through it.

But there was another alternative.

He thought of the box opening, and then, the first box suddenly lost its glow, and it opened.

[You have gained 25 Revenge Points]

He didn't know anything about these Revenge Points, but the system definitely knew about it. He decided to open the second box before saying anything about it.

But deep inside, he knew that it was very useful.

Kieran thought of opening the second box, but unlike the first box, it didn't loose its glow, instead....

"Ugh....."
