Selling Another Ring & New Skill

Arden finally reached the entrance of the forest and exited. Knowing that Donald's guards would still be at the entrance, he chose to pass through another side of the forest.

He glanced to the left and noticed a carriage in the distance, bearing the symbol of a blazing sun. "Hmm, just as I thought, they're still there," Arden muttered. "But I don't see those twins anywhere."

Squinting his eyes, he saw an unfamiliar guard and one of the twins standing near the carriage. "Did the other one go to look for Donald?"

Putting that thought aside for now, Arden shrugged his shoulders and continued walking forward, heading towards the east gate.

He had already unequipped the mask and cloak, so he was now wearing his usual brown tunic.

"This'll fetch a good amount," Arden muttered as he stared at the ring he was holding. The ring had a red gem on it and looked expensive.

After killing Donald, he had taken the ring because it seemed like the cheapest among all the rings Donald was wearing. With this, he would get some more gold coins.

Arden's mind flashed back to the battle he had just fought with Donald, and he couldn't help but take a deep breath before exhaling.

A sigh escaped his lips as he looked ahead. 'If my plan hadn't worked, the battle would have dragged on for far longer than that.'

Thankfully, his strategy had worked, and he was able to kill Donald with his Lightning Spear Skill.

As he got closer to the gate, the meadow terrain was as beautiful as always. The grasses swayed from left to right due to the breeze. The cool breeze relaxed him a bit, and finally, he reached the gate.

The guard noticed him instantly and started walking towards the gate with a grin on his face.

The guard opened the gate, allowing Arden to enter the city, before locking it again.

"You know, I'm a guard, you're supposed to greet me. Or don't you kno—"

Before the guard could even finish talking, Arden was already far gone.

"Huh?! Come back here!" the guard exclaimed, frowning, but Arden didn't even bother to turn back. He just kept walking forward, with one destination in mind.

'I'm not so sure about selling this ring at the same store as last time... I'll just go to another store,' Arden thought as he glanced around.

Just like yesterday, there were guards on the street, but Arden wasn't bothered by it. Even the masses had already gotten used to it.

Humans were truly able to adapt at a very quick rate.

Since he wore the cloak when he killed Donald, his tunic wasn't stained with blood like last time.

After some minutes of walking, he reached the store where he had sold Ryker's ring, but he passed it without even glancing at the owner.

He continued walking forward, glancing from left to right, searching for another jewelry store.

Seconds later, he finally spotted a store on the left side of the street and immediately headed there.

The store was bigger than the one where he had sold Ryker's ring, and various pieces of jewelry were displayed outside.

Apart from the owner, nobody else was present in the store, which satisfied Arden.

As soon as he reached the store, the owner came out. He was a man with short black hair, black eyes, and a mustache. The most prominent thing about him was his bulging stomach. In fact, it was almost the first thing anyone would notice when looking at him.

"Hmm, are you here to buy or sell?" the man asked as he stroked his mustache.

Arden looked at the man. "Sell," he replied shortly, raising his hand to show the man the ring.

The man squinted his eyes as he stared at the ring with a thoughtful expression on his face.

After a few seconds, he spoke. "7 gold coins." His voice was sharp and solid, almost as if he was leaving no room for negotiation.

Going straight to the point, Arden stared at the man before speaking. "10 gold coins. That's the least I can take."

Arden knew that Ryker's ring was worth a little more than Donald's ring, but he wouldn't settle for anything less than 10 gold coins.

The man gazed at Arden with a slight frown. "Are you toying with me?" he asked.

"That's my price. Take it or leave it," Arden said, unfazed.

A sigh escaped the man's lips as he massaged his temples. "The masses are getting smarter every day," he muttered, and Arden clearly heard him.

'Even with that, there are still some people they can fool,' Arden thought.

The man walked back into his store and returned a few seconds later with a pouch in hand.

"You know how this works," he said.

Arden nodded and handed the ring over to the man. He understood what the man meant, so he wasn't worried.

The man instantly brought out a circular device, which he placed in front of his right eye. He scrutinized the ring carefully through the device.

After a few seconds, he removed the device from his eye and handed the pouch to Arden.

Arden opened the pouch and saw the 10 gold coins inside. Without saying anything, he left the store, heading towards the inn.

On his way, he called the system in his mind. 'System, show me my reward.'

He finally had the chance to check his reward, so he decided to do it before reaching the inn.

"Sprint..." Arden muttered as he reviewed the further details about the Skill.

As Arden was processing this information, he suddenly felt something behind him, and he instantly turned around.

'Wait... What... Huh?!'
