Battle of the Mines

POV: John

It has been a day since I arrived at this village, the villagers worked just like in the game, no thoughts, stupid, and relying on the Guardian to protect them day in and day out. I have checked their village for anything useful.

There were Haybales which I used to make nearly two stacks of bread, Diamond Armor on a armor stand which I couldn't use yet because I didn't have any levels in defense, and thirteen Iron Ingots.

I used the Iron Ingots to make a Saber and a which would protect me from getting my ass whooped like in the Uvaraptor fight.

The weapon I crafted was very friendly to newbies who were still getting ahold of things.

The Iron Saber also has a twenty-five percent bonus for damage absorption, the damage negated by the saber would damage it's durability instead of your health. It also boasted a fifty percent damage bonus to mobs or people without a chest plate.

I also crafted myself a stone tower shield by crafting a basic wooden one then upgrading it using the small stones that I found in the field.

I grabbed several torches around the village for free and then found a cave to mine in. My goal for this mining expedition was to kill some mobs for experience and get some iron, mostly experience though, experience was extremely important in Rlcraft. I couldn't even wear basic Iron Armor because of my lack of stats in Defense.

" I crafted a lit Torch one time and let it sit to see how long it would last. I have at least a few hours which should be enough to get a lot of Iron. " I thought as I descended lower and lower into the cave I found, placing torches along the way.

Because of how fast I was descending, I quickly encountered my first mob. A Zombie, the zombie was aimlessly wandering around until it found me, after it caught sight of flesh, it couldn't control itself, it lunged at me with astounding velocity for something overridden with rot.

Thanks to the knowledge about fighting I gained from the Attack stat though, I dodged the attack and unleashed a counter which chopped of it's head, gaining a few experience points in the process. Undeterred from this minor encounter. I descended deeper, mining the ores that I could find using a Stone Pickaxe.

I encountered my first Skeletons and Creepers along the way which I disposed of easily as well, I had a Stone Shield which rendered both of their methods of attack useless. Shields in minecraft had a ungodly amount of durability.

The Mobs of this cave were easy to kill but I didn't let my guard down, this were just vanilla mobs after all, and sure enough, I found the my first hostile mob in this cave that was not vanilla.

A Chupacabra. This Monster was reptilian, imitating the form of a Komodo Dragon but way bulkier and bigger, it had razor sharp claws in it's four legs and spines protruding out of it's back. It's jaw was also extremely bulky and fitted with teeth. It could probably chomp a cow in half if it wished so.

It hadn't noticed me yet. I could run away but I wanted it's experience. There's no way I'm gonna kill that thing with what I have, not in a fair fight at least. So according to my thoughts, I set up a pit fall filled with stone weapons that I crafted, if it fell, it would be pierced in numerous areas of it's body.

After the trap was done, I aggroed the Reptile and ran away as fast as I could, I then jumped over the two by five pit being careful not to fall in myself. I blocked the other ways around the pit with walls so the Chupacabra would have no choice but to jump over to me.

Mobs in this world had a extreme aggression towards humans that blinded their thoughts, sure enough. The Reptile tried to jump over and I blocked off the path with blocks at the last moment. I was ecstatic when it worked, who knew that a old Bedwars strat was so effective.

I quickly dug down the pit and collected my hard earned experience and mob drops. I got two Chupacabra Meats from that, three pieces of Leather, and a Beasts Soulstone.

I didn't know what it does so I checked the description in my inventory.

[ Can be used to summon a random Beast and tame it. ]

This thing was pretty good, I prayed to the only God I know and spawned a Mob in, hoping it was good.

The thing that came out next was what seemed like a polar bear but way more bulky, It seemed like it could mess mobs up. I ordered it to follow me and went back up into the surface, I tested this thing against a few mobs like Zombies and Skeletons, they got torn apart in a few seconds. This thing was good.

I got a bit confident with this tame and decided to kill a blight mob that I found, It absolutely manhandled my bear and I was only able to take it out because my Bear weakened it. I was starting to get attached too. Meh, whatever, at least I got a heart crystal from it.

Maybe my multiple deaths have been affecting me, I didn't think like this in my previous life. Well, I guess I gotta go with the flow.

Heart crystals could be used to craft heart containers which gives you extra hearts which is crucial in Rlcraft because of the locational damage.

Once I reached the surface I checked my inventory for my gains, I got almost a stack of coal, half a stack of Iron and 3 diamonds which was pretty good. This was nothing though compared to the materials I will need in the future. A Dragon could incinerate a man in full diamond armor in a instant. This is no time to get cocky.

I sighed as I thought about my future troubles " Future problems are for future me I guess. " I pondered as I concluded my thought process and went back to sleep, I have been in the mines for a while.

Edit: Thanks to the people who donated powerstones to this fic, I am shocked to know that you chose this fic out of every story on the platform.
