Constructing a Base( Part 1 )

POV: John

It has been exactly sixty-seven since I have been in this place. I have died numerous times already and have accomplished a lot of things. I was still homeless though. This entire time, my base was inside a villager house that I have ransacked and changed to fit my needs.

However, I'm ready to build a proper base now that I have Armor, Iron, and We-

CINDER STORM!!!

Prepare to burn!!

F*cking hell, after the fifty days mark. Mob Events got activated all of the sudden. Mob Events as the name suggest, are periodically occurring events that spawn one or multiple hostile mobs around you depending on the theme of the event. This Event particularly spawned Fire Elementals.

The Events are completely random, I have been wondering where they were this entire time but I guess the first fifty days are a tutorial of some sort. The difficulty might be amped even more in the future which was another reason to get my base built up. The best place to build your base in Rlcraft is underground.

You could build your base out of blocks like Desert Stone or Shadow Stone if you want to live on the surface but these blocks only spawn in Dungeons which leaves the Bunker as the only viable option this early into the "game".

Enough talking though, I still had to deal with the Cinderstorm event which I dealt with by spamming Aegis using my Summoning Staff. They dealt with the Fire Elementals pretty quickly.

This Summoning Staff has saved my ass so many times that I lost count. I was glad that I made this thing as soon as possible.

I then started the preparations for making the base, I went into my Chest and brought out all my resources, Cobblestone, Wood, and Planks. Sadly though, even with my my combined networth, I still didn't have enough to create my base. And so I went back into the mines to get cobblestone, I used a Iron pickaxe with Efficiency four enchanted onto it.

Before long, I got several stacks and skedaddled out of there. I chopped some wood with my Iron Axe and made them into Planks. Once I got enough, I encountered one of my main problems when constructing a base, lighting.

Light sources in Rlcraft often had a time limit to how long they stay lit. The only way I know of to circumvent this is to get Glowstone from the Nether and oh boy. The Nether is brutal, I remembered when I watched a video of a guy playing Rlcraft. He got incinerated and blasted with every negative debuff in the game the moment he entered.

Good thing I had a plan though. You see, when you make a nether portal in the Overworld, Mobs spawn from it. One of those Mobs drop Netherwart which I need to craft a Invisibility Potion. which would allow me to collect Glowstone. So that's what I did.

I hunted down that mob, made a Invis potion and went into the Nether. It was incredibly hot over there, the only reason I survived in those harsh conditions was probably because I got granted a Minecrafter's physique. Anyways, I drank the Invis, got in, mined the Glowstone, and got out. No complications.

There was also another problem for my base, where to put the entrance. I need a proper entrance and exit for my base that is not a door or a trap door. A Mob could just blast through that with no difficulty so I needed Sticky Pistons to create a Redstone door out of solid stone. Good thing I have a Mount now to find a swamp.

Flashback

I rummaged through my chests, looking for the crab legs I stored away, I knew that Avian Treats were crucial for taming a Mount so I slaughtered all the crabs I came accross without mercy and this was the moment my efforts bore fruit.

I finally managed to find the Crab Legs and combined them with bones to create Avian Treats, I rushed out of my house as fast as I could, praying that the potential Mount didn't leave and there I found it, a Ventoraptor.

This thing was a close cousin of the Uvaraptor that I fought in my first day in this world. The only difference was this one was faster, faster than any land mount out there and plus being immune to Fall Damage made this the absolute best land mount.

This thing tried to attack me but I kept feeding it treats which tamed it fast enough. I then brought out a Beast Soulstone which would allow me to contain and summon this Mount whenever I want.

I was giddy with excitement once I captured this mount, you are not a man if you didn't dream of having a pet dinosaur at least ONCE in your life.

Flashback End

Now I spawned my new dinosaur with excitement flowing through my veins, I tried to mount it and... It threw me off into the wall. Sh*t, I forgot the saddle.

I searched the crafting recipe and I needed Troll tusk's, Stymphalian Feathers, Troll Leather, and a Saddle.

This is going to be a long f*cking day.

Authors Note: What do you think about this chap? I decided to divide this into two parts due to how complex building this base will be.
