Chapter 4: Cave

" I'm scared and thirsty...."

Like Xiao muttered softly looking at the surroundings where he didn't find a trace of human being.

As modern man from the wealthy and loving family he didn't have any time to spend alone, he was always surrounded by his family or some people who wanted to curry favor from his family.

Now alone in the wilderness without food, water, people and with lurking dangerous beast's Li Xiao finally understand how he was luck in his previous life.

Just as Li Xiao was feeling scared and thirsty in the abyssal forest, roaming alone, he discovered a small lake a hundred meters away. His heart leapt with excitement, and he carefully ran towards it, mindful of the forest's many hidden dangers.

Kneeling by the water's edge, Li Xiao scooped up handfuls of the cool, refreshing water and drank greedily, the liquid soothing his parched throat.

"Finally, some relief!" Li Xiao exclaimed feeling cool water gulping through his mouth.

The satisfaction palpable as he felt the water revitalizing his tired body. He took a moment to appreciate the tranquility of the lake, its surface reflecting the moon.

For the first time since his arrival in this strange world, Li Xiao felt a glimmer of hope.

After drinking his fill, Li Xiao stood and looked around, his eyes scanning the surroundings for any signs of danger or potential shelter.

After scanning for a while he noticed Several meters away, partially concealed by thick bushes, what appeared to be the entrance to a cave. It was a dark opening, framed by tangled roots and foliage, almost easy to miss if one weren't looking closely.

Intrigued and hopeful, Li Xiao walked towards it, his steps careful and deliberate. When he reached the entrance, he stopped, staring into the darkness. Li Xiao hesitated, wondering whether to go in or not. 'Is it safer inside or out here with the beasts?' he thought, the uncertainty gnawing at him. He knew the forest was filled with nocturnal predators, and the idea of spending another night out in the open filled him with dread. But the cave was an unknown—there could be anything inside.

Determination flashed in his eyes. "It's better to risk it and check my luck," Li Xiao muttered under his breath.

Gritting his teeth. The night was already upon him, and the thought of being eaten by beasts outside was far more terrifying.

Li Xiao took a deep breath and pushed aside the bushes, cautiously stepping into the cave's shadowed entrance.

Inside, the darkness was thick and oppressive, but Li Xiao steeled himself, feeling his way along the rough, cool walls.

The air was damp and carried a faint, earthy smell, a mix of moss and stone. As he ventured deeper, the cave seemed to stretch farther than he initially thought, winding slightly to the left. His footsteps echoed softly, the only sound in the otherwise silent cavern.

He paused, allowing his eyes to adjust to the dim light filtering in from the entrance. Gradually, he began to make out more details. The cave was spacious, with a high ceiling that arched above him like a cathedral. Stalactites hung from the roof, and small pools of water dotted the floor, fed by slow drips from above. It felt like a place untouched by time, ancient and serene.

Li Xiao continued deeper, his confidence growing with each step. He came across a wider chamber, partially illuminated by a narrow shaft of moonlight streaming in through a crack in the ceiling. The light revealed a smooth, flat area of rock, perfect for resting. He set down his belongings and took a moment to gather his thoughts.

"This should be safe enough for the night," Li Xiao said to himself, the sound of his voice strangely comforting in the stillness. He arranged his makeshift bed, using gathered leaves for a semblance of comfort.

As he settled down, he felt a wave of exhaustion wash over him. The day's journey had been long, taxing and scary, and his body craved rest.

As he lay there, his mind wandered back to the events that had brought him to this point. The mysterious circumstances of his transmigration, the constant struggle for survival, and the fleeting moments of hope and despair.

Despite everything, he felt a growing resolve within him. This world was a mystery, but he was determined to survive and uncover its secrets.

The cave provided a sense of security Li Xiao hadn't felt in days, before transmigration his predecessor some how survived in this abyss forest for almost a month, but in the end he died from despaired and starved.

As receiver of his body and his memories, Li Xiao knew how he get here in this dangerous forest alone despite being useless without any strengh.

" Li Feng, Ye Chen."

Gritting his teeths Li Xiao Muttered with cold voice with hatred in his eyes.

After sorting out his predecessor memories, He knew why he the Young Master Of the Li Family died in this place.

Thinking about the reason a adorable face came to his mind making him smile for a moment, And he couldn't help but comment out loudly.

" How cliched! Getting schemed by because of jealousy about why he couldn't get Beauty."

Roaaaaarrrr.

Li Xiao came out of his senses when he heard ear piercing roar of the beast from a far.

Outside, the forest was alive with the sounds of nocturnal creatures, but within these walls, Li Xiao felt a semblance of peace. He knew he couldn't stay here forever, but for now, it was enough. As sleep began to claim him, he made a silent vow to himself.

"I will find a way to thrive in this world," he whispered inwardly, his eyes closing as he drifted off. "No matter what it takes in this life, I'd Win."

With that, Li Xiao fell into a deep, dreamless sleep, his body finally given the chance to rest and recuperate. Tomorrow would bring new challenges, but he was ready to face them head-on. The cave's protective embrace offered him the respite he needed, a brief haven in an otherwise relentless world.
