The Mist! Save Me!

"The Mist! Please save me! This boy is insane! He's trying to kill me!" He shouted.

I looked at the man and the boy, back and forth, before stopping on the boy, "Is that true?"

"This has nothing to do with you, Mr. Mist. Go away before I kill you." He said confidently without a trace of arrogance. It proves he believed in his ability very much.

I observed the boy quietly, realizing he seemed different than when I first met him. No, that wasn't true.

"I'd like to see you try." I smiled and continued, "this time, don't run away."

He looked at me hatefully, "you're going to regret it."

After he said those words, the mech walked towards me. I took a vape and calmly exuded a mouthful of smoke. It stayed in the air for a little while before vanishing.

"Aren't you going to need that?" The boy asked.

"I don't need it to fight a kid." I chuckled and put the vape in my pocket. Afterward, I jumped out of the hover board and landed on the steel platform. It made a heavy thud as the platform slightly bent in.

"Don't blame me if you died." The boy simply aimed his arm at me and the mech rushed towards me.

"A thing you need to know when fighting an Honor..." I assume a fighting stance. When I finished, the mech was already near me. I nonchalantly continue my phrase, "... Always assume they never fight a hundred percent."

I punched the mech. The latter was about to dodge it when it realized it couldn't. It observed its body with a special vision and saw thin smoke invading its body through the thin gaps of its armor, the smoke held itself on its joint like glue, preventing it from moving.

It can dodge attacks, but only attacks it could see and notice.

Usually, the mech would be able to see an attack like this, but due to the smoke pollution in Olympus, the smoke I control and I didn't simply blend in and there is no way the mech would know the difference.

My fist hit its face. Upon impact, its face bent in and sparks of electricity flew everywhere. The force unleashed within the punch was so great it knocked back the mech a few meters away off the bridge. It fell to the ground with a loud thud. Thankfully it landed on an abandoned factory.

The boy's expression was that of despair and disbelief, before turning to fear. He wanted to say something when I became a blur in his vision. He felt a pain behind his neck. His vision darkened. His body became heavy beyond what he could withstand and he fell with a thud.

"Now then." I averted my eyes to the office worker, "You'd better tell me everything and only the truth."

"Yes, yes, of course! What do you want to know?" He eagerly cooperated.

"Alright, good. But first, let's find a good place to talk and change yourself."

"Hmm?" He was confused at first then realized that he was soaked in his blood, sweat, and perhaps tears, "yes, you're right, but where should we go?"

"I'm not familiar with Olympus." I replied as I carried the boy on my back and ordered the hoverboard to come.

"I know a place. Would you like to go there?" He pondered.

"Yeah, sure. Lead the way." I put the boy on the hover board and said to Yin Hee as I gave her money, "Find a hotel and watch the boy, okay? The rest is your pay."

Yin Hee's eyes widened when she saw five papers of 1000 Erk bills. a 1000 Erk bill is enough to feed a family of four for a month!

"I thought you didn't have money?" She asked, confused.

"What kind of idiot declares themselves that they carry a bunch of cash in a high crime district?" I asked her again.

"Makes sense." She nodded and looked at the hoverboard, "How should I drive this?"

Answering her question, I simply raise my hand and then move them right and left, creating a stem and a handle. It looked like a scooter.

"Your power really is amazing!" She praised before pulling the throttle, flying away to the distance.

I looked back to the office worker. An awkward silence ensued.

"We should get going." The office worker break the ice.

"Yes, we should." I agreed with a nod.

We went to a nearby public hot bath and had a talk inside. The bath was vast and the wall had wallpaper of a mountain that seemed from the surface world.

"Isn't that Mountain Stanserhorn?" I asked as I looked at the wallpaper. My body was already submerged in the warm water and it relaxed my nerves. It washed away my exhaustion too. Heavenly was the only correct word for this.

"You seem to know a lot about the surface world, Mr. Mist." The office worker said.

"I've been there for missions. Hey, we haven't introduced ourselves properly yet. You can call me Sunny if you want."

"No, no. Despite your young age, your achievements are far and wide, it'd be rude to call you that, Mr. Mist. Right, my name is Mark Adams, just Mark is fine."

"Okay, Mark. So, tell me everything you know."

"Yes, of course."

He told me a long story. He tried his best to only tell the important parts. It was obvious as he paused once in a while.

Anyway, this is what I learned from him. He's the boy's father's strongest and loyal supporter. I doubted him at first but chose to listen. Mark told me that a guy approached him to betray his partner for a huge sum of money and also an opportunity. Mark refused the offer without hesitation.

He reported this to the boy's father.

The boy's father, however, told Mark to agree. Mark was confused, but knowing his partner, he trusted him and chose to do so.

It was a secret deal only made by the two of them, but for some reason, the news were known to everyone in the company. This caused Mark's reputation to be frowned upon by the boy's father side.

Mark was immediately welcomed by the opposition party. He consulted  him about what to do as he didn't want to be on the opposition side, but the boy's father simply said to go with the wave.

From that moment, the boy's father started to lose. More of his supporters followed Mark and joined the opposition side, until eventually, no one was there to support him and he was fired by the company.

Mark wanted to help the boy's father, but he refused firmly. It wasn't twice or thrice Mark tried to help him. When the fifth time he tried to help the boy's father, the latter snapped and threatened him to kill his entire family.
