Early morning ride

Chari sat on one of the seats along with Aliana and Jane while Sarah and Luck were on the other seat opposite them.

Luck was currently fast asleep, using the carriage chair as a bed and Sarah's laps as a pillow while the latter gently stroked his hair.

Chari rested his hand on the window watching as they left the confines of the clan and shortly after, they were in the city.

The city was barely awake, there were no other carriages on the road so the audible sound of their carriage plowing through the street echoed across the area.

A couple of diligent workers were already up and about getting ready for the busy day. The meeting of clans happening in the moon clan meant that the city was receiving a steady stream of customers who came around to get a taste of the city so they had to set up for the day early enough.

Chari still had no idea of where they were going so he turned to his only source of answers.

"Where are we going?" He asked Aliana.

"Well to the tailors of course!"

She said it as if that alone was enough to explain the whole situation.

Noticing his displeased look Aliana expounded.

"We are going to the tailor's place to get you guys fitted for the final event of the meeting of the clans, it is a unique kind of ball."

The whole news of attending a ball sounded off considering that they were not allowed to attend any of the events so far. Chari couldn't help but wonder if there was something he was unaware of.

"We haven't attended any event so far, why are we attending the ball all of a sudden?" Chari asked bluntly.

Aliana and the rest of them were already used to him by now so he didn't even try to act like a child, not like he knew how a 7 year old was meant to act anyways.

A mischievous smile spread across her face.

"So you haven't attended any event huh?" She asked in a playful manner.

"..."

Chari just stared at her, refusing to answer.

Alaina crossed her hands around her chest proudly.

"I spoke to your father about it,"

Initially Aliana had tried her best to get them to attend but Nevi was way too stubborn. He gave her a flimsy reason that both of them knew was just an excuse, according to him he wanted to keep the existence of the twins a secret.

But how did that make any sense? Her pregnancy wasn't hidden in any way so the clans definitely knew that they were born. It was even stranger that they hadn't been presented yet.

It took a lot of time and tricks to finally get Nevi to agree to let them attend the ball, it would take another 5 years before the meeting of clans would be hosted by the moon clan again and she couldn't let them miss out on their opportunity to witness this one. After all, she organized it!

Thankfully Nevi finally allowed them to attend albeit not officially, at the very least they would be present.

She turned to Chari who had been curiously watching her the whole time and continued.

"I managed to convince Nevi to let you guys attend, he wanted to keep you guys hidden for safety reasons but I managed to convince him of how safe the clan actually was."

It wasn't entirely the truth, but she didn't want to damage their already lacking relationship with their father any further.

"And why are we going so early?"

"There are actually two reasons for this. We still don't want you guys to be seen by the other clan members but the major reason was that the tailor we are going to is rather popular."

The tailor, a childhood friend of Aliana ran one of the most popular clothing brands in the moon clan's region. She was always swamped with orders so Aliana had to call in a favour from her in order to get them fitted on time.

There was only one condition, they had to be early.

"We can't afford to be late if we want to get your clothes today."

Satisfied, Chari went back to staring through the window.

The last time they visited the city they were basically at the city outskirts, the market and the district they were in was rather close to the clan so they didn't need a carriage to go to and fro, this time however, they were currently going into the depths of the city.

Alaina's hope was that they would get to the store on time because at that point, they were already running late.

***

As they made their way through the city Chari was beginning to get a proper lay of its structure. The cities were not too lacking technologically, they had high rise buildings, proper roads that were made of a different material, malls and others. Their own touch of otherworldliness was evident in the way they designed their structures.

It was like a fantasy version of a modern city, a feast for the eyes.

The carriage bumped over something causing the carriage to jolt. The rider panicking hastily gave words of apology but Aliana didn't mind.

Luck on the other hand was still fast asleep, he moved his hand underneath his shirt to scratch his belly before returning it to his original position. The bump did nothing to wake him up.

After some time, the carriage was finally pulled to a stop and the two riders hastily opened the doors for them.

They had arrived at the tailor's shop.

Inside the shop, they were greeted by a large show room with tons of expensive looking clothes littering the area, some were on mannequins while others were hung.

The shop was not yet opened so for now the area was devoid of customers.

"Please come with me Lady Aliana."

A young woman with dark brown hair tied up in a bun led them up stairs. Luck was still asleep and was currently being carried by Aliana, his head resting loosely on her shoulder.

"Laziness." Chari muttered under his breath.

The room they were led to was rather… unique?

Tons of fabric were scattered around the room, completely whole fabric as well as tons of scraps littering the area.

There were several large sewing machines around the room currently all working without anyone manning them.

In the middle of the carnage was a petite woman with short green hair and radiant eyes of the same colour. A pair of scissors and tape roll were gently floating around her complete attached to nothing.

Her face was marred by chalk and currently that face in question was contorted in anger as she spoke.

"Ali, you're LATE!"
