Diary of the mentor ch15 A cousin pt1.

"...Teach...i.t..s.o.cool!"

Currently at the edge of a tall skyscapes sat a white haired youth hugging his body.

It was night and dressed in nothing more than a plain t shirt and cream trouser that was cut short at his knees it could be said his actions at keeping warm prove inefficient as the cold breeze brushed across his exposed pale skin.

"It's not that cold!"

His teach, a beautiful and matured red haired in a black croptop and buggy white trousers remarked placing her hands at the edge and staring into the night sky.

'Teach!" Lucas called.

"Huh!"

Directing her gaze as him, Vana answered his call.

"Why do you like stargazing?"

Every interaction he had with Vana especially during the night involved her staying at the night sky or cityscape with a distance look in them.

He has always been curious about it but too shy to ask but under the intense cold breeze he finally resolved himself to ask since it was better than sitting idoily for hours whiles freezing to death.

"It's a ritual..." She began.

" Like that sword throwing thing you taught me years back?"

"Hmmm...." Placing her right hand underneath her chin she continued," ....I guess you could say that."

"So did someone teach you this ritual?" Lucas inquired.

The sword throw had been though to him by Vana to only use on Frey so he guess her stargazing was also taught by someone.

"Yes.." she replied a smile forming on her face.

Lucas was a bit taken back by a sudden smile. Vana was someone who smiled a lot but that smile was usually a grim kind or cynical kind. Truth be told he had never seen her let out a pure smile like the one she had just done.

Seeing such a smile he couldn't help but grow curious about the individual who had taught her.

"Where they you teacher like you are to me?"

"No...he was my husband!"

"Huh?"

"Teach...."

"Hmmm..."

"You are married!"

Laucas almost screamed coming to this realization.Thinking about it now it kind of mind sense since Vana was in her forties.

Observing his reaction vana let out a light laughter and spoke.

"Why you thought I was a virgin like Frey!"

"Frey is a...."

His mind seems to explode as he heard Vana words. The sheer scale of her reveal could change many things not for the world but for him.

"Yep unlike Frey I did settle down!"

"So where teach's husband!"

"Death!"

"..."

His expression darked as his head collapsed in his leg. Ignoring the city below him he bits lips in anger for even asking.

"I'm sorry!" He apologized for bringing about such a sensitivity subject.

Losing a love one was painful and while he sister was definitely alive somewhere he still remembers the days when he longed to see her.

"It's alright..." Vana patted his back.

"It's been years since he died. I'm mostly over it!"

He could sense the lies in her words but he chose not to point it out. Sometimes choosing to believe in a lie was better than accepting the truth.

"Are you curious about him?"

Swinging her legd within the empty space infront of the building edge, she asked.

" A bit."

He wouldn't lie it wasn't a bit but a lot after all he was kind of curious of the man that his master fell in love it.

"Well...for staters he was a human."

Raising his head to properly hear about this human he smiled in interest.

"I'm betting he was strong."

"Yes.." she smiled a nostigic kind and brushing her long red hair back.

"Not stronger than me but still pretty strong."

"He was definitely stronger than you." Lucas thought but kept that to himself.

"He was kind, cheery, charismatic and caring..maybe a bit too caring but.. I didn't hate it."

Noticing the blush in Vana cheeks he shook his head a delightful expression on his face.

"In a era runned by awakener with their own interested in mind...he truly was the exception. He had a goal of wanting to be a hero and I as his wife and spear wanted to see that came through but...."

"He failed!" Lucas interjected.

"No....he achieved its. In his finally movement he achieved his dream of being a hero and soared the skies with blazing intent but the prize of his goal was his death!"

"The hero of light, constalia!" Lucas muttered.

Fifteen years ago,a mythical class Cryptic manifested in Avalon in the west of Avgon, with the demi gods out of commission.

Only the strongest tracsndents being the seven where deployed by the bearu to handled it.

At the end they did successed but two of them where lost in the process.

The twilight witch Arisa Davis, weilder of the kaleidoscope dagger and the Hero of light Lux, weilder of constalia.

"Sir lux..was he the one?"

"Yes, luacs he was the one."

"Lux..."Vana muttered that name as his stared at the night cityscape with distance eyes.

" On the first of ever mouth, we would come here, just causal sitting and observing the city we had swore to protect."

"He had swore!' luacs chimmed in.

He didn't like criticizing other but he couldn't stand his mentor lie.

Vana never cared about this city. She only cared about the one trying to protect it

"You know me to well!" A bitter smile escaped her lips as he closed her eyes.

"Saving the world, protecting other...I could never truly relate to those words. Unlike Frey I couldn't disguise it as duty nor could I go with the flow like Allen."

"Is it a side effect of becoming a god?"

So far in his life he had met a total of two transcendant and whiles he wasn't the best judge of character he could clearly sense their detouchment towards the world as a whole.

He had first notice this feeling after No name had been killed infornt of him and Frey.

And truth be told he hated that.

Why should the path towards godhood strip one of their so called humanity or morality.

"You are right, I did lose my humanity after I transcendant but that was solely because I give it up."

"What do you mean?"

"An awakener must be ambitious but I only truly found my ambition after I fell in love."

"You mean...."

"Yes, an awakeners ambition negated the possibility of losing ones humanity or morality. Take Lux for example, his ambition was to become a hero and even after transcending he never lost it. I on the other hand never had one and just saw ranking up as a way to be strong."

"But isn't seeking strength an ambition."

"it is!"

Vana grinned," but what is the end goal of the strength one sort for."

"..."

"I just want to be strong for strong seek and that wans't ambitious enough to negate the effect. So I lost my empathy, my husband and finally become a depressed bum!"

The last part was a bit funny to hear but luacs kept his feeling in check.

"You didn't fully lose you empathy..." He paused and stared at the cityscape.

"...after all you saved me."

His words didn't gain him the effect he wanted as Vana completely ignored him and kept on stating in the distance.

The woman seemed lost in her own world but she seemed happy so luacs didn't bother her and tried to decipher what was so good about the city night view.
